Week 16 Sunday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook
Tampa Bay Buccaneers First TD Scorer: Jalen McMillan (+700)
Some had high hopes for McMillan after he scored a touchdown in the Week 1 victory. Unfortunately, his role on offense has been hit or miss, even after the Buccaneers lost Chris Godwin to a season-ending ankle injury in Week 7. Furthermore, the rookie has missed four games with multiple injuries. However, the former Washington star has been on fire, ranking second on the team in targets (13) over the past two weeks.
More importantly, McMillan has been a scoring machine lately. The rookie wide receiver has three receiving touchdowns over the past two weeks. He has had the team's first touchdown in both games. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have surrendered four receiving touchdowns to wide receivers over the past four weeks, including three in their past two contests. Furthermore, the first touchdown scored against Dallas has been by a wide receiver in back-to-back games.
Dallas Cowboys First TD Scorer: CeeDee Lamb (+360)
While many wrote off the Cowboys after they lost Dak Prescott to a season-ending injury, Dallas has won three of their past four games. More importantly, Lamb is starting to click with Cooper Rush. The superstar wide receiver had zero receiving touchdowns in the backup quarterback's first four starts this year despite averaging 10 targets per game. However, he has a receiving touchdown in back-to-back games while averaging 10 targets per contest.
Furthermore, the former Oklahoma star has scored the first Cowboys touchdown in back-to-back games after not having that honor since Week 2. Lamb should keep that streak rolling on Sunday night against the Buccaneers. Last week, Ladd McConkey had the first Los Angeles Chargers touchdown in the loss to Tampa Bay. More importantly, the first offensive touchdown scored against the Buccaneers has been a passing one in eight of the past 11 outings.
Anytime TD Scorer: Mike Evans (-110)
Evans is one of the league's best wide receivers, especially at finding the end zone. Despite missing three contests earlier this season with a hamstring injury, the veteran wide receiver ranks fourth in the NFL with nine receiving touchdowns, totaling more than Brian Thomas Jr. (eight) and Courtland Sutton (six) in fewer games. The former Texas A&M star has found the end zone at least once in 54.6% of his games this year.
Last week, Evans had two receiving touchdowns in the blowout win over the Los Angeles Chargers, bringing his total to three since returning from the hamstring injury. Furthermore, it was his third game with two receiving touchdowns this season. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have struggled to keep opposing No. 1 wide receivers out of the end zone lately, surrendering two receiving touchdowns to Ja'Marr Chase in Week 14 and one to Terry McLaurin in Week 12.
Anytime TD Scorer: Bucky Irving (-110)
Unfortunately, Irving has been playing through a hip injury for the past month. He also left the Week 14 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders with a back injury. However, the rookie has played well lately. Irving leads the Buccaneers with six rushing touchdowns, accounting for nearly half the team's total. More importantly, he has three rushing touchdowns in his last four healthy outings, averaging 16.7 attempts per game in those matchups.
Meanwhile, the former Oregon star should have his way with a struggling Dallas run defense. The Cowboys have surrendered 14 rushing touchdowns to running backs this year, the third-most in the NFL entering Week 16. They have given up a rushing touchdown to opposing running backs in 57.1% of their games, including two or more in 28.6% of their contests. Don't be surprised if Irving has two rushing touchdowns in Jerry's World.
