Week 15 Sunday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook
Green Bay Packers First TD Scorer: Jayden Reed (+650)
Anyone who plays fantasy football or bet on Reed in Week 14 has spent the past 10 days cursing his name. The second-year wide receiver had only one target and zero receptions last week. However, he has seven offensive touchdowns this season, ranking second on the team behind Josh Jacobs. The former Michigan State star has three receiving touchdowns over the past four weeks, including two against the Miami Dolphins in Week 13.
Furthermore, Reed has scored the first Packers touchdown in five games, the most on the team. The second-year wide receiver has had the first Green Bay touchdown in two of the past four games. Meanwhile, the first touchdown scored against the Seahawks has been by a wide receiver in 63.6% of the matchups. Seattle has surrendered the first touchdown to a wide receiver in six or the past nine games, including back-to-back outings.
Seattle Seahawks First TD Scorer: Zach Charbonnet (+230)
FanDuel has Kenneth Walker III listed with Charbonnet as co-favorites to score the first Seahawks touchdown on Sunday night. However, Walker is unlikely to play for the second consecutive week because of a calf injury. Therefore, Charbonnet will have a featured role against the Packers. The second-year pro had three rushing touchdowns over the past two weeks. Furthermore, he had the first team touchdown in Week 3 with Walker out of the lineup.
Charbonnet leads Seattle in rushing touchdowns (seven) and offensive scores (eight) this season despite being the No. 2 running back. Meanwhile, the Packers run defense has struggled this year. They have given up nine rushing touchdowns and three receiving scores to running backs. More importantly, the first touchdown scored against Green Bay has been by a running back in 46.2% of the games, including three of the past four outings and back-to-back contests.
Anytime TD Scorer: Josh Jacobs (-170)
Unfortunately, Jacobs struggled to find the end zone to start the year. The former Alabama star had only one rushing score and zero receiving touchdowns over the first six weeks. However, the veteran running back has been a scoring machine lately. Jacobs has 10 rushing touchdowns and one receiving score over the past seven weeks, finding the end zone at least once in 85.7% of the contests, including four consecutive games.
The Packers have become a run-heavy offense since the Week 10 bye, leaning on their star running back. Jacobs has eight rushing touchdowns over the past month, totaling three scores in two of the past three games, including last week. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have surrendered 10 touchdowns to running backs, including eight on the ground this year. While Seattle's run defense has been significantly better lately, expect Jacobs to score at least once on Sunday night.
Anytime TD Scorer: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (+185)
After a quiet rookie season, Smith-Njigba is taking over as the Seahawks' No. 1 wide receiver. The former Ohio State leads the team in receiving touchdowns (five), ranking third in offensive scores behind the two talented running backs. More importantly, the second-year wide receiver has four receiving touchdowns over the past five contests. Smith-Njigba has found the end zone in two of the past three games, including last week against the Arizona Cardinals.
More importantly, the Packers have surrendered 12 receiving touchdowns to wide receivers, the 15th-most in the NFL. However, they have had issues keeping wide receivers out of the end zone lately. Green Bay has given up three receiving touchdowns over the past two weeks, including a season-high two scores in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions. Furthermore, the Packers will be without two key members in the secondary, including star cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee).
