NFL Survivor Pool Advice for Week 3: Odds, Picks & Predictions (2025)

One of the most popular ways to tout your football knowledge is in a survivor pool. Each week, you select a team to win their game with the goal being surviving as long as possible. The catch is you can only choose a team once, so it's imperative you think ahead when selecting.

If you've made it to Week 3 in your survivor pool, congratulations. I've spent the last two weeks trying to navigate the NFL landscape, selecting winners, while trying to avoid some of the strongest teams to keep them in my pocket for later in the year. That strategy will start to pay off as the season progresses. Here are two of my favorite NFL survivor pool picks to help you advance another week.

NFL Week 3 Survivor Pool Picks

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks picked up their first win of the season with a strong performance on the road against Pittsburgh. The offense was clicking as they gained 395 yards of total offense at a clip of 6.2 yards per play. Kenneth Walker was strong with 105 yards on the ground and Sam Darnold shook off two interceptions to throw for 295 yards and two touchdowns.

In Week 3, the Seahawks host the Saints. New Orleans has looked competitive in their first two games at home, but both resulted in losses. In Week 1, they managed to bottle up Kyler Murray through the air, but allowed 5.4 yards per carry on the ground in a 20-13 loss to the Cardinals. On Sunday, they stopped the run well, but they allowed Mac Jones to come in and throw for 279 yards and three touchdowns in his first start as a 49er.

The Saints on the road, going to Seattle, is a different story. The loud Seattle crowd should be able to rattle Spencer Rattler. The Saints have yet to show they can put together a full game on the defensive end and slow down the run and the pass. Seattle is capable of winning games either on the ground or through the air, as well as with their defense. The spread indicates Seattle is a heavy favorite, and with two upcoming road games and a matchup with the Buccaneers in the coming weeks, now is a great time to use the Seahawks.

Buffalo Bills

If you're ready to start jumping into teams that should shine most weeks, the Buffalo Bills are a safe pick in Week 3. In a week with a lot of close early lines, this Thursday Night Football matchup with the Dolphins has the Bills as almost two-touchdown favorites. That is for good reason.

The Bills followed up their thrilling come-from-behind victory over the Ravens in Week 1 with a thorough domination of the Jets in Week 2. They outgained the Dolphins by nearly 250 yards and added 224 yards on the ground. They've shown that no matter what defense you throw at them, they can beat you on the ground or in the air. With Miami, there isn't much defense to speak of either way.

The Dolphins have already allowed 33 points per game on the season, and that has been against quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Drake Maye. No offense to them, but Josh Allen is a perennial MVP candidate. The Bills have made this division rivalry one-sided since 2017, going 15-2, including a 2022 playoff win, against Miami. There are a couple of other good spots to take Buffalo in the next few weeks if you don't feel confident in Seattle, but otherwise, they're the second-best NFL survivor pool pick for Week 3.
