NFL Teaser Odds, Picks & Predictions: Week 2 (2023)

One popular way bettors try to find value on NFL lines is by playing teasers. An NFL teaser is similar to a parlay; you add multiple legs that must all win for the bet to pay out. The key difference from parlays is that a teaser allows you to buy points like 6, 6.5, or 7 in a direction that lowers risk.

Teaser Tips to Follow

Never Cross over 0
Tease through two key numbers, ideally 3 & 7.
Tease games with lower totals, ideally anything 49 or less.

Below are three teaser options for Week 2, along with my Best Bet.

Week 2 Teaser Options

San Francisco 49ers from -7.5 to -1.5 vs. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams were lucky to replace Cooper Kupp’s production with rookie Puka Nacua. Nacua essentially came out of nowhere and caught 10 passes on 15 targets for 119 yards. Unfortunately for the Rams, he is now listed as questionable due to an oblique injury.

So, after playing a Seahawks team missing two defensive back starters, they face another division foe in the 49ers, who are as healthy as they have been in two years. The 49ers made a statement last week reminding everyone they are still legit Super Bowl contenders.

Since Matthew Stafford has joined the Rams, he is 0-4 against the 49ers in the regular season, while Kyle Shanahan is 9-3 SU and ATS against Sean McVay’s Rams.

Buffalo Bills from -8.5 to -2.5 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Buffalo Bills should cover this 8.5 with ease. I think this 8.5 line is a bit of an overreaction to the Bills’ loss on Monday Night Football. Yes, Josh Allen has turnover problems, but let’s remember the Jets have a top 5 defense.

In 2022, the Jets ranked inside the top-5 in Total Yards per game, Pass Yards per game, and Points per game. They also allowed the least amount of receiving TDs with 15.

This week, Allen and the Bills should and will have a much easier matchup against the Raiders.

The Bills have a much more explosive offense than the Broncos and should have no problem moving the ball downfield, especially with Josh Allen having a chip on his shoulder, ready to redeem himself in the Bills’ home opener.

Pittsburgh Steelers from +2.5 to +8.5 vs. Cleveland Browns

Last week, we backed the Browns as a home underdog; now, this week, we do the same with the Steelers. Cleveland’s win against the Bengals was impressive on paper, but this line does not consider many underlying factors.

While the Browns’ 24-3 win looks impressive on paper, it wasn’t nearly as impressive on film. Deshaun Watson still looked a bit rusty, as his timing on many throws was late or inaccurate. Watson finished the game 16-for-29 for 154 yards and one touchdown.

The Steelers looked completely lost against the 49ers, which was not expected, especially how well their offense looked in the preseason. Then again, they were going up against one of the better defenses in the league.

Mike Tomlin will have his team ready to play on Monday, especially in front of their home crowd in primetime against a divisional rival.
