Kansas City has been 9-2 in season openers under Andy Reid, one of those losses coming last year vs. the Detroit Lions. Baltimore has gone 6-4 in their last ten openers but are 4-1 with Lamar Jackson under center. But Jackson and the Ravens are 1-4 SU, 2-3 ATS against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Both teams underwent some changes in the offseason, but Baltimore's were more significant. Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins found new homes, but the team acquired Derrick Henry. They also lost a few defensive stalwarts and two players off the offensive line. Derrick Henry will not be the difference maker fans are hoping he can be, making it easier for the Chiefs to focus on slowing down Jackson. But without a run game to keep the Chiefs’ defense honest, it will be even harder than usual for Jackson to pass. Mahomes, on the other hand, will shred Baltimore's rebuilt defense.
