NFL Thursday Night Football Player Props: Patriots vs. Bears
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Caleb Williams 2+ Passing Touchdowns (-152)
The juice on this selection is a bit out of control. If you want to add this prop to your bets this evening, get in early. At this rate, Caleb Williams’ total touchdowns line could reach 3+ at -105. We recommended a first-quarter passing touchdown (+170) for Williams earlier in the week, just in case this does reach three.
Williams has thrown at least two touchdowns in one out of three games this season. Given the low success rate relative to the heavy juice, oddsmakers clearly expect the young quarterback to sling two touchdowns against New England.
The spread is currently over 50, with an implied team total of 27 for Chicago. Williams is more than capable of throwing two touchdowns. The Bears quarterback has recorded two or more touchdowns in six out of his last seven home games.
Each Team to Record 1 Rushing + 1 Passing Touchdown (+150)
Once again, we are going to strategize against the high total of this contest. If Williams’ passing touchdowns make you hesitant, pivoting to each team scoring one passing and one rushing touchdown is a fine play. When a contest is expected to be high scoring, look for positive returns that correlate with big totals.
In this case, we have two quarterbacks who combined for four touchdowns in Week 6, and each has rushed for at least one touchdown this season. The Bears and Patriots have rushed for 12 combined touchdowns. D'Andre Swift has scored in two straight games, while the Patriots have run the ball into the end zone in two of their last three games. Caleb Williams has thrown at least one touchdown in eight of his last 10 home games.
DeMario Douglas 4+ Receptions (+102)
Our next selection could be one of the more popular plays tonight. DeMario Douglas was a reliable target on Sunday. The Patriots wide receiver could once again exceed his suggested threshold, with Romeo Doubs recently placed on injured reserve (IR) with a shoulder injury. Douglas caught seven passes on eight targets on Sunday.
Douglas has caught 11 of his last 13 targets - he’s one of the more reliable options in New England’s passing attack. Douglas is averaging over 6.5 receptions through the previous two games. The Patriots will have to rely on A.J. Brown and Douglas for most of their receptions. Douglas should grab at least four receptions.
Colston Loveland 40+ Receiving Yards (-151)
We round things out with a disappointing return based on the juice. Colston Loveland has produced 40+ yards in only two out of six games. Granted, three different quarterbacks have thrown to the young tight end over that span. We also considered the under on Loveland's longest reception at 20 yards (-119). He hasn’t met this threshold in any game.
We ultimately decided to acquiesce and opt for the high-juice option. Loveland finished with 65 yards on six receptions in Week 6, and with Caleb Williams back, we should see many more 50+ yard outcomes. For our purposes, though, we only need 40+ yards. Loveland was targeted on seven passes last week, second only to Luther Burden III. The Bears tight end is averaging 41.1 yards per game with Williams.
