Giants vs. Panthers TD Scorer Prop Bets
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook
New York Giants First TD Scorer: Tyrone Tracy Jr. (+250)
The Giants offense has been wildly inconsistent this season. They have failed to score a touchdown in a third of their games, including three weeks ago. However, their rushing offense has been productive since making Tracy the lead running back. The rookie has two touchdowns this year, including the first score for New York in two of the past four weeks. Furthermore, the first Giants touchdown has been by a running back in 44.4% of the games.
Meanwhile, the Panthers have the worst run defense in the NFL. Carolina has surrendered an NFL-high 13 rushing touchdowns to running backs this season, giving 23.1% more than any other team. They have allowed running backs to total two or more rushing touchdowns in nearly half of their games, including three or more twice. Furthermore, the first offensive touchdown scored against the Panthers has been a rushing one in three of the past four weeks.
Carolina Panthers First TD Scorer: Xavier Legette (+650)
Carolina traded away two wide receivers over the past few weeks, sending Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens and Jonathan Mingo to the Dallas Cowboys. The Panthers felt comfortable making the moves because of Legette. The rookie has stepped up as the No. 1 wide receiver with Bryce Young under center, scoring the first team touchdown in back-to-back weeks. Furthermore, he has a team-high four receiving touchdowns, scoring at least once in three of the past four contests.
While the Giants don't have an awful pass defense, they've struggled to keep wide receivers out of the end zone. They have surrendered 10 receiving touchdowns to wide receivers, the fifth-most in the NFL, including four over the past three weeks. Furthermore, the opposing No. 1 wide receiver accounted for all four scores. More importantly, the first offensive touchdown scored against New York has been by a wide receiver in nearly half of their games, including back-to-back matchups.
Anytime TD Scorer: Chuba Hubbard (+105)
Hubbard signed a four-year extension earlier this week. The former Oklahoma State star has played well, totaling five of the Panthers' seven rushing touchdowns this season. Furthermore, the veteran leads the team in offensive scores (six), totaling two more than anyone else. More importantly, Hubbard has six touchdowns over the seven weeks, totaling at least one in five of those contests, including two rushing scores in the Week 9 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Some might be afraid to bet on Hubbard with Jonathon Brooks making his NFL debut in Germany. While the rookie running back is talented, he will likely be on a heavy snap count coming off a torn ACL. Therefore, expect the veteran to see the bulk of the backfield workload. Meanwhile, the Giants have had trouble keeping running backs out of the end zone lately. They have surrendered three rushing touchdowns to running backs over the past three weeks.
Anytime TD Scorer: Theo Johnson (+360)
Picking Malik Nabers to score an anytime touchdown at +130 is the safer bet. However, what's the fun of betting if you can't take some risk? Johnson is the least talked about rookie on the Giants' offense. Yet. the former Penn State tight end has seen an increase in targets lately, totaling 10 over the past two weeks, including a career-high six in Week 9. More importantly, he scored his first career touchdown last week against the Washington Commanders.
Meanwhile, the Panthers have been the worst team at defending tight ends this season. They have allowed the fourth-most receiving yards to tight ends, surrendering 63.4 per game. More importantly, Carolina has given up seven receiving touchdowns to tight ends, the most in the league. Tight ends have had five receiving touchdowns against the Panthers over the past three weeks, including two in the same contest twice. Don't be surprised if Johnson scores his second career touchdown in Germany.
