The Commanders must travel cross-country to play the Seahawks on Sunday afternoon. The weather forecast calls for rain and the temperature in the low 50s. There are several injuries, particularly at wide receiver, for both teams. It should be a fun game that the rain could have a hand in.
The Commanders are fresh off a 20 to 17 victory over the Patriots at Foxborough. It broke a two-game losing streak. Curtis Samuel missed the game at New England and is still limited in practice due to a toe injury. Jahan Dotson would likely earn more targets if Samuel were to miss again.
The Ravens demolished the Seahawks last week, 37-3. The game was in Baltimore, which is a long way to travel. D.K. Metcalf is dealing with a hip injury that kept him out of practice on Thursday. He practiced on Wednesday, which could be cause for concern. Tyler Lockett was also limited on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury but logged a full practice on Thursday.

The Seahawks have a turnover differential of +2 and have taken care of the ball for the most part this season. They have recovered six fumbles, which could be a factor if it rains throughout the game. The Commanders have a turnover differential of -1. They have recovered seven fumbles this season.
The Commanders traded Montez Sweat and Chase Young a couple of weeks ago, worsening this already weak defense. Geno Smith has only been sacked 18 times this season compared to 44 for Sam Howell. It is hard to imagine the Commanders putting pressure on Smith after the trades. The Seahawks are tied for fourth-best with 3.4 sacks per game this season. They should put lots of pressure on Howell, which could force him into mistakes. He has played well through adversity all season, but the fans in Seattle and travel will make it difficult.
Can the Commanders' Secondary Stop Tyler Lockett & D.K. Metcalf?
The Commanders' secondary has their hands full, assuming Metcalf is active. They have allowed 252.7 passing yards per game and have given up the second-most touchdowns to wide receivers this season. Geno Smith and company should have a field day against this defense. The one area that could become a problem is third downs. The Seahawks rank 13th in both third-down defense and third-down offense. They allow opponents to convert 45.3% of third downs and only 31.9% of their own third downs. Given their lack of pass protection, they should stop the Commanders more than usual. They need to stay ahead of the chains on offense, though.
Kenneth Walker logged a full practice on Thursday. He has been dealing with a chest injury that has presumably limited his workload. He is trending in a positive direction and adds an explosive element to this offense if given enough opportunities.
