NFL Week 15 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions (2023)

We head into Week 15 of the 2023 NFL regular season with three games on Saturday and 11 games on Sunday, returning to a single Monday night game after a surprisingly exciting doubleheader last week.

And since I get to pen our weather piece here at BettingPros each week, I am VERY excited about the low-pressure system, which is several disturbances coming together to create a widespread shield of heavy rain with strong winds, making some NFL venues quite messy.

Let’s look at the Week 15 weather report.

NFL Week 15 Weather Report

All forecasts courtesy of AccuWeather.com

Minnesota Vikings at Cincinnati Bengals (-3), Total 40.5

Forecast: 54 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation (Saturday game)

Wind speed: 5-7 MPH

The weather will be rather tame in Saturday’s only-scheduled game in the elements. The temperatures will be relatively balmy, and there won’t be much wind to speak of.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts (-1.5), Total 42.5

Forecast: Indoors (Saturday game)

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Steelers and Colts battle under the roof in Indianapolis, so we have a fast track. Will the Steelers be able to get their offense jump-started to take advantage of that track?

Denver Broncos at Detroit Lions (-4.5), Total 47.5

Forecast: Indoors (Saturday game)

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Broncos and Lions didn’t look to be much of a game earlier in the season, but this battle between two playoff contenders has plenty of ramifications indoors.

Atlanta Falcons (-3) at Carolina Panthers, Total 33.5

Forecast: 51 degrees, 100% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 14-16 MPH

This will be an absolute mess, kind of like the Panthers offense. Bank of America Stadium is the only venue in a city calling for 100% chance of rain. It will be soggy and chilly, with the winds kicking with gusts up to 20-25 MPH. If you’re brave, you can get tickets for next to nothing.

Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns (-3), Total 38.5

Forecast: 48 degrees, 80% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 12-16 MPH

These two northern teams are used to playing outside in the elements, but it will still be slippery and sloppy, with a stiff wind blowing in off of Lake Erie with plenty of showers. Expect a lot of work on the ground with few aerials.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Green Bay Packers (-3.5), Total 42.5

Forecast: 41 degrees, 10% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 8-10 MPH

Ah, the old “Bay of Pigs” game that the late Pete Axthelm enjoyed so much. They meet in Lambeau, which will be quite balmy by northern Wisconsin standards in mid-December. No problems here.

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-3.5), Total 36.5

Forecast: 52 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 8-10 MPH

The Texans look to rebound in Nashville after a stunning blowout loss to the lowly New York Jets, while the Titans look to build on an upset win at Miami on Monday night. They’ll both do so in pretty nice conditions in Music City.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (-8.5), Total 36.5

Forecast: 76 degrees, 10% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 16-18 MPH

The precipitation will all but likely have pulled out of South Florida by Sunday’s kickoff. Still, there could be a stray shower, and the winds will be quite gusty, blowing up to 25 MPH at times in the wake of the big East Coast storm.

New York Giants at New Orleans Saints (-5.5), Total 39.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Giants will be happy to be indoors this week after being out in the elements in several rain games at home this season. The Saints need a win to keep pace for first place in the NFC South.

San Francisco 49ers (-12.5) at Arizona Cardinals, Total 48

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The 49ers and Cardinals meet in the friendly confines of State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., although the conditions would be pretty pleasant if they were outdoors. But anyway…

Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5) at New England Patriots, Total 37

Forecast: 53 degrees, 30% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 5-7 MPH

The first half should mostly be dry, but conditions will deteriorate throughout the afternoon, with rain likely moving in around the third quarter and getting steadily heavier until the game’s end.

Washington Commanders at Los Angeles Rams (-6.5), Total 50.5

Forecast: Indoors

Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.

The Commanders are indoors and have to figure out how to corral the red-hot RB Kyren Williams on a dry, fast track under controlled environmental conditions. Good luck with that.

Dallas Cowboys at Buffalo Bills (-1.5), Total 50

Forecast: 50 degrees, 50% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 13-16 MPH

Like Green Bay above, this is pretty fall-like weather for western New York at this time of the year. Although, the winds will be affecting the passing game and kicking game, with some gusts up to 20-25 MPH likely at times.

Baltimore Ravens (-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars, Total 41.5

Forecast: 58 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation

Wind speed: 14-17 MPH

The precipitation should be mostly out of the area and into the mid-Atlantic states by the time kickoff starts, but like Miami below, plenty of wind will still linger and affect most of the game.

Philadelphia Eagles (-3) at Seattle Seahawks, Total 47.5

Forecast: 45 degrees, 50% chance of precipitation (Monday game)

Wind speed: 3-5 MPH

This is a pretty standard focus for the Pacific Northwest in December. We won’t have heavy rain, but it will be misty, dark and gloomy. Good sleeping weather, but nothing that should affect these two teams too badly. Both have had plenty of experience in wetter conditions this season.
