NFL Week 18 Weather Report & Predictions (2025)
It’s Week 18 of the National Football League (NFL) regular season is the final weekend of the season. Thank you for reading this season. I hope that you had a great holiday season and New Year!
There is a lot of indoor football this week, which legitimately makes me sad. I didn’t look ahead at the schedule before writing this week and didn’t realize there was such a small chance of seeing actual football in the elements. I need to go watch some downhill skiing or snowboarding or something. Ugh.
Let’s dive into the Week 18 weather report.

NFL Week 18 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions
(All forecasts courtesy of AccuWeather.com | Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook)
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-14) | Total 44.5
Forecast: 69 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 6-8 MPH
For Sunday’s game in Tampa, the weather outlook is beautiful. I was just down there for New Year’s and rung it in after a ride on Cheetah Hunt and Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. If you’ve never been, and you are a coaster enthusiast, I highly recommend it.
Buffalo Bills (-3.5) at New England Patriots | Total 36.5
Forecast: 33 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 13-15 MPH
The Bills are locked into the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs, missing out on the bye. Buffalo is expected to rest its starters for all or most of the game. New England is in the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Scores could be low, but conditions will at least be nice.
Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (-10) | Total 41.5
Forecast: 19 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 7-9 MPH
There is little to no chance of precipitation in Northeast Wisconsin, but the temperatures will be frigid. It’s nothing these two northern teams aren’t used to, however.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts (-3) | Total 45.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Jaguars and Colts wrap up the season indoors. Colts QB Joe Flacco gets the start for the home side, while QB Mac Jones gets the nod for the visitors. Whoever wins, we all lose if we watch. Yuck.
Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons (-7.5) | Total 48.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
Boring. Another indoor game, although the weather isn’t exactly all that frightful outside right now anyway. The south could get some rare snow later this week, but the chances Sunday are as good as Chick-fil-A being open.
Washington Commanders (-6.5) at Dallas Cowboys | Total 43.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
I didn’t look ahead at the NFL schedule, as I am just getting back into town. But another indoor game? Come on, NFL. Save the outdoor games for the cold-weather months. Let’s see some real football.
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-1.5) | Total 36.5
Forecast: 39 degrees, 100% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 9-11 MPH
Here we go. In the Music City, the rain sweeps in Sunday morning, and there could be a changeover to a wintry mix or snow showers overnight. It won’t impact the game, but it will be slippery. The Texans are likely to hold out a lot of starters, even though head coach DeMeco Ryans has said otherwise. With Houston locked into the No. 4 seed in the AFC, why risk your star players on a slippery track?
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-1.5) | Total 36.5
Forecast: 32 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 13-16 MPH
Temperatures will be around freezing, with wind chills in the teens to lower 20s with a stiff wind at times. The passing and kicking games could be adversely impacted on Sunday.
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets (-1) | Total 38.5
Forecast: 34 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 13-16 MPH
Similarly to Philadelphia, there won’t be any precipitation in the mix for Sunday, but we’ll see temperatures around freezing with gusty winds. That’s bad news for the quarterbacks and kickers, as well as the receivers downfield.
Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos (-10.5) | Total 40.5
Forecast: 29 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 3-6 MPH
There is a 0% chance of seeing QB Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs, with the team having locked up the No. 1 overall seed. There is also a 0% chance of seeing any snow in the Mile High City for Sunday’s game. It’s too bad this game wasn’t played on Saturday or Tuesday, as the snow chances are light but much better.
Los Angeles Chargers (-4.5) at Las Vegas Raiders | Total 41.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
Great, another indoor game in January. In the AFC West, the Broncos and Chiefs should each be hosting games in this division in December and January, not indoor teams.
Seattle Seahawks (-7) at Los Angeles Rams | Total 38.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
You know that I am getting angrier and angrier as I write, right? Right. Another important game; another game outside of the elements. I guess that is just football in 2025. I miss it when all the teams played outside, where football belongs. Sigh.
San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals (-4.5) | Total 42.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
Ooh, it’s QB Joshua Dobbs’ revenge game against the Cardinals… and, it’s indoors. These teams have a 0% chance of making the playoffs this season, and neither team will see any precipitation in this game, either. However, recall that we did see rare rain and hail earlier this season when the roof was open in Arizona.
Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions (-3) | Total 56.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
I am so sad. The most important game of the Week 18 schedule will be played indoors on Sunday Night Football. It’s a great game, and a great game deserves weather. But, alas, even if this game were in the Twin Cities, it would be indoors, too. We need Chicago to get better for primetime games in the elements in the NFC North Division.
