NFL Week 2 Anytime Touchdown Scorer Odds & Picks (2023)

Last week we saw the NFL officially kickoff and I took a wait-and-see approach to player props. However, it's a little different this week. I think we'll see a lot more points scored this week as the under was in play for just about every game in week one.

There's a lot of intriguing matchups as the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. Also, we should see the Cincinnati Bengals bounce back this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Lastly, the New York Giants should at least score some points against the putrid defense of the Arizona Cardinals. Let's jump into my favorite matchups for week two with my favorite touchdown scorers for week two in the NFL!

NFL Week 2 Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks

Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

D.J. Moore is quite familiar with playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his 10 career games against the Bucs, he has 58 receptions for 766 yards and three touchdowns. Most importantly, two of those touchdowns have occurred in his last two games against them from last season.

In the Bears season opener against the Packers, Moore only had 2 targets with both of them being caught for 25 yards. One good thing for Moore and the Bears is that a lot of teams across the league started off slow during week one. Just ask the Cincinnati Bengals. The game against the Bucs should provide Moore an opportunity to bounce back.

Last week, the Buccaneers gave up 9 receptions for 150 yards to Justin Jefferson. Meanwhile, Jordan Addison had 4 receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers. I'd expect a little bit more consistency with the Bears and that includes a much healthier target share for Moore. Whether it's a deep pass or a designed screen, I think Moore will get his first touchdown of the season and first as a Chicago Bear.

Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars

Off to an incredible start, Calvin Ridley looks like a top-5 wide receiver in fantasy football right now. In week one, he had a 34.4% target share in the Jaguars offense and it generated 8 receptions for 101 yards and a score. Those numbers could come down a little bit but regardless, Ridley looks like the top receiving option for Trevor Lawrence.

This week, Ridley will match up against the combination of Joshua Williams and LaJarius Sneed. Last season, both cornerbacks gave up over 65% catch rate so that bodes well for Ridley. Meanwhile, the Chiefs faced the Lions last week and we saw strong performances from both Josh Reynolds and Amon-Ra St. Brown in that game. It's always dicey betting on a player to score on back-to-back weeks but in a game that should be high scoring (O/U 51 points), this game bodes well for Calvin Ridley to score.

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons

The way this is trending for Packers tight end Luke Musgrave, he's becoming a must-add in fantasy football. In addition, I think he scores his first career touchdown this weekend against the Falcons. Last week against the Bears, Musgrave turned 4 targets into 3 receptions for 50 yards. He also had a long touchdown for 37-yards and he probably would have scored had he not tripped over his feet.

Last week, Musgrave had a 14.8% target share and he played 81% of the snaps. With question marks surrounding the health of wide receiver Christian Watson, I think we'll see Musgrave continue to find TE1 production this week.

Last season, the Falcons gave up the 7th most receiving yards and 6th most receptions to tight ends in 2022. Those numbers could be similar this year after Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst had 5 receptions for 41 yards and a score last week against the Falcons. It's safe to assume that Musgrave has a similar stat line and I think there's a good chance he finds the end zone.

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions

Buckle up folks, the Lions not only should cover the 5-point spread against the Seahawks, but we should see significant playing time from their first round pick Jahmyr Gibbs. That's not doubting the role or production we'll see from David Montgomery in this game.

However, there's much to be desired with Gibbs in this game. Last week, he only played 27% of the snaps but he still had 60 total yards on nine total touches. But earlier in the week, head coach Dan Campbell had stated that they want to get Gibbs more involved with this offense. This week would be the perfect opportunity to do that.

In the Seahawks week one matchup against the Rams, they gave up 80 total rushing yards between Kyren Williams and Cam Akers. Not bad for two running backs that had 37 total carries combined. That said, both running backs scored touchdowns and Williams scored two of them on the ground. I think Detroit will be able to find success on the ground with both of their running backs. Meanwhile, Gibbs should find plenty of production as a pass-catcher. After all, the Seahawks gave up the most yards per reception to running backs a season ago. Whether it's a long touchdown run or off a screen pass, I think Gibbs scores his first career touchdown this weekend.
