NFL Week 2 Monday Night Football Player Props Picks & Predictions: Vikings vs. Eagles

Dalvin Cook OVER 70.5 Rushing Yards (-115 odds via DraftKings)

Dalvin Cook ran for 90 yards on 20 carries (4.5 YPC) in a Week 1 win over the Packers. Even in a game for which the Vikings are underdogs on the road, Cook should be featured even more prominently this week as a result of the friendly match-up against Philadelphia. The Eagles surrendered 144 rushing yards on only 15 carries to D’Andre Swift last week as the Lions backfield leader averaged a whopping 9.6 YPC on the ground.

Cook cleared this benchmark for rushing yards in nine of the 14 regular season games in which he played last season. In 2020, he eclipsed this threshold 10 times in 14 games. Though new head coach Kevin O’Connell has implemented a more pass-heavy approach to the offense this season, the Vikings would be foolish not to exploit this soft Eagles’ run defense.

In this case, DraftKings provides the more favorable offering. Though the -115 odds aren’t as profitable as FanDuel’s -113, the latter sets the line at 71.5 rushing yards. The difference from -115 to -113 is minimal enough that we’re happy to buy down the yardage total for this one.
