NFL Week 3 Weather Report & Predictions (2024)
Week 3 of the National Football League schedule is upon us, and we should have Chamber of Commerce weather days on Sunday all across the United States. We’ll have good weather at every venue, with perhaps a little bit of wind affecting a couple of the venues. The same can’t be said for Monday Night Football, as the doubleheader will both feature rain, which could slow the track down significantly. Will it impact fantasy performances?

NFL Week 3 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions (2024)
All forecasts courtesy of AccuWeather.com | Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
Los Angeles Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers (-1.5) | Total 35.5
Forecast: 78 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 3-5 MPH
The Chargers are outdoors and in the Eastern Time Zone for the second time in three games. The good news is that the weather in the Steel City will be mostly fine, with a light breeze and mostly cloudy conditions. Nothing to worry about here.
Chicago Bears at Indianapolis Colts (-1.5) | Total 43.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Bears are indoors for the second straight week, as we get a battle between the No. 1 overall pick QB Caleb Williams and 2023 first-round draft pick QB Anthony Richardson. Both young QBs are looking to improve.
Houston Texans (-2) at Minnesota Vikings | Total 46
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Texans haven’t had to deal with the elements at any point this season. They’ll be indoors for the first five weekends until Week 6 when they travel to New England. The Vikings look to replicate last week’s success at home.
New York Giants at Cleveland Browns (-6.5) | Total 39.5
Forecast: 79 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 7-10 MPH
The Giants didn’t allow a touchdown last week. That’s the good news. The bad news is that they still managed to lose in historic fashion. The Browns are back home looking for redemption after a Week 1 setback to Dallas. It will be dry, but this is the windiest location of Week 3, with breezes off of Lake Erie going up to 10 MPH.
Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints (-3) | Total 49.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Eagles are looking to pick themselves up off of the mat after a devastating collapse Monday. A short week and a trip to New Orleans to face the red-hot Saints is a tough spot for the Eagles.
Denver Broncos at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6.5) | Total 40.5
Forecast: 87 degrees, 5% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 5-7 MPH
The calendar might read fall, but it’s still summer on the Suncoast. The Broncos go from elevation to sea level, and that is always a tough adjustment for the visitors. There is a slight breeze, but nothing to be too concerned about.
Green Bay Packers at Tennessee Titans (-2) | Total 38
Forecast: 91 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 6-8 MPH
It’s the Malik Willis homecoming game, as the former Titans draft pick returns to Nashville. And it is Music City, not Central Florida, that will have the hottest temperature in Week 3.
Carolina Panthers at Las Vegas Raiders (-5) | Total 40
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Panthers switch gears, benching 2023 No. 1 overall pick QB Bryce Young for veteran journeyman QB Andy Dalton. The Raiders return from a successful road trip to Baltimore last week and look to build on that momentum.
Miami Dolphins at Seattle Seahawks (-4.5) | Total 41.5
Forecast: 65 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 3-5 MPH
There is a false narrative that it always rains in Seattle, but this is the second home game at Lumen Field. It will be dry once again. QB Skylar Thompson makes his first start in place of QB Tua Tagovailoa. A dry track will help his speedy receivers get him off on the right foot.
Detroit Lions (-3) at Arizona Cardinals | Total 51.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Lions are indoors for the third time in as many weeks. This might not have looked like it on paper before the season, but this is an interesting game. QB Kyler Murray looks like his pre-injury self and the Cardinals are fun to watch again.
Baltimore Ravens (-1) at Dallas Cowboys | Total 48
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.
The Ravens have inexplicably started at 0-2 and the Cowboys are looking to bounce back after getting trucked at home against the red-hot Saints. Both teams can ill afford another loss at this early juncture.
San Francisco 49ers (-6.5) at Los Angeles Rams | Total 43.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
This game could be called the Injury Bowl. The 49ers will be without WR Deebo Samuel for multiple weeks and RB Christian McCaffrey is on injured reserve (IR). The Rams have lost both WRs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua to multi-week injuries, too. At least the replacements get a dry, fast track indoors.
Kansas City Chiefs (-3) at Atlanta Falcons | Total 46.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Chiefs hit the road for a second primetime game in three weeks, while the Falcons are playing at night for the second consecutive weekend. Can QB Kirk Cousins carry over the momentum from his miraculous comeback in Philadelphia?
Jacksonville Jaguars at Buffalo Bills (-5.5) | Total 45.5
Forecast: 67 degrees, 50% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 8-10 MPH
Bills Mafia will be soggy in the parking lot at Highmark Stadium, but they’ll be in a good mood once the game begins. We should have steady showers, leading to slippery conditions. Winds will kick up, but nothing too severe.
Washington Commanders at Cincinnati Bengals (-7.5) | Total 47
Forecast: 75 degrees, 60% chance of thunderstorms
Wind speed: 4-6 MPH
We get the most interesting weather game last. In Cincinnati, we’ll have scattered thunderstorms, which could very well lead to a lightning/weather delay to start. The rains will weaken to just light showers, but the precipitation should stick with us for the entirety of the game. At least the winds will be light.
