NFL Week 4 Weather Report & Predictions (2024)
Week 4 of the National Football League is here. It’s the final Sunday before we have three consecutive games in England from Weeks 5 through 7. There are a handful of games that will encounter some showers, with Chicago earning its famous Windy City nickname. We have two games in the Sunshine State, too. It is going to feel like summertime in Tampa on Sunday and in Miami on Monday.
We have a major hurricane hitting the coast of the Southeastern United States leading up to the weekend, but it appears most of the venues across the NFL will escape the effects of the storm, or the rains will have moved to other parts of the country. We’ll keep an eye on Atlanta, however, as Hurricane Helene is expected to impact that city directly on Friday.
Let’s dive into the Week 4 weather report.

NFL Week 4 Weather Report: Advice & Predictions
All forecasts courtesy of AccuWeather.com | Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
Dallas Cowboys (-5.5) at New York Giants | Total 45.5
Forecast: 72 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 5-7 MPH
The Giants return home to face the Cowboys, who are outdoors for the first time since rolling to a victory in Week 1 in Cleveland. We will have cloudy conditions with a slight breeze, but nothing to be concerned about on Thursday night.
New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons (-1.5) | Total 42.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
While this game is indoors, Hurricane Helene is expected to hit the Atlanta area as either a Category 1 storm or as a strong tropical storm, sometime during the afternoon or evening on Friday. One, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Saints impacted getting into town. But two, it also wouldn’t be shocking to see the game have the kickoff time changed if flooding, downed trees, etc. cause any damage in the area, which could potentially endanger fans getting to Downtown Atlanta for the game. Keep an eye on this one.
Los Angeles Rams at Chicago Bears (-2.5) | Total 40.5
Forecast: 70 degrees, 25% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 11-13 MPH
The Rams head out into the elements for the first time this season. There is a slight chance of intermittent showers during the game, with breezy conditions gusty up to 15 MPH. We could see more of a ground-based offensive attack, as a result. However, don’t expect this to be a deluge, but more of a nagging drizzle.
Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (-2.5) | Total 43.5
Forecast: 74 degrees, 5% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 9-12 MPH
The Vikings head to Lambeau Field to battle the Packers, and it will be one of those Chamber of Commerce days in Central Wisconsin. It will be sunny, bright and totally unlike the frozen tundra we see in December or January.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-1.5) at Indianapolis Colts | Total 39.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
This battle will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium with controlled environmental conditions. Despite the fast track, it could be lower-scoring still, with QB Anthony Richardson’s inaccuracy issues and Pittsburgh’s sturdy defense.
Denver Broncos at New York Jets (-7.5) | Total 39.5
Forecast: 66 degrees, 20% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 6-8 MPH
After hosting Thursday Night Football with the Giants, the Jets take over MetLife Stadium on Sunday. There is a slight chance of showers, but it should mostly just be overcast with a slight sprinkle.
Philadelphia Eagles (-1.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Total 44.5
Forecast: 85 degrees, 30% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 4-6 MPH
It will be toasty down in Central Florida. Hurricane Helene is expected to pass west of the Bay Area on Thursday, so there is ample time for clean-up and for the Eagles to get into town. Plus, at least for now, Tampa isn’t expected to take a direct hit from the major hurricane. However, things can change with storms, so keep an eye on things.
Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5) at Carolina Panthers | Total 46.5
Forecast: 77 degrees, 20% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 6-8 MPH
Charlotte is under Tropical Storm Warning for the effects of Helene, but the storm is not expected to cause damage in terms of wind. The Queen City could see quite a bit of rain, however. Like Tampa above, things should clear up by the time Sunday rolls around. There is just a slight chance of showers for game time.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans (-6.5) | Total 43.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The roof at NRG Stadium can be open to the elements, but with temperatures approaching 90 degrees, they’ll likely have the air conditioning pumping on Sunday.
Washington Commanders at Arizona Cardinals (-3.5) | Total 50.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Commanders go from Southwest Ohio to the Desert Southwest on a short week, so that’s a tough turnaround. But, Washington is flying high after dropping Cincinnati on Monday Night Football in the rain.
New England Patriots at San Francisco 49ers (-10.5) | Total 40.5
Forecast: 76 degrees, 0% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 4-7 MPH
The Bay Area will have abundant sunshine for Sunday’s game, so expect a dry, fast track for this AFC vs. NFC battle out west.
Cleveland Browns at Las Vegas Raiders (-1.5) | Total 37.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome.
The Browns visit Vegas for the first time since the Raiders relocated from Oakland. It’s the first game indoors this season for Cleveland. The Raiders meet an AFC North team for the second time in three games.
Kansas City Chiefs (-7.5) at Los Angeles Chargers | Total 39.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
The Chiefs are indoors for the second straight game, while the Bolts are back home in the Pacific Time Zone for the first time since two outdoor games the past two weekends.
Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) | Total 46.5
Forecast: 67 degrees, 60% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 9-11 MPH
There is a big chance of showers in Charm City for this marquee AFC battle. Buffalo was battling showers last weekend and it will again experience a soggy evening with Baltimore. It won’t likely be a driving rain, but the ball could get awfully slippery. Expect a more ground-oriented offense on both sides, which was likely going to happen anyway.
Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins (-1.5) | Total 36.5
Forecast: 84 degrees, 15% chance of precipitation
Wind speed: 6-9 MPH
It will be toasty down in South Florida and the ambient temperature is likely to be a lot hotter than the action on the field. The Dolphins are uncertain if QB Skylar Thompson will be healthy enough to start or if QB Tim Boyle or QB Snoop Huntley will get their first start with the team. Either way, yuck.
Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions (-3.5) | Total 46.5
Forecast: Indoors
Wind speed: This game is played in a dome
In the second Monday Night game, which is the second straight week with a doubleheader, the Seahawks and Lions battle indoors. It should be a fast track, as both teams look to build upon big wins in Week 3.
