Small Long Shot (odds up to +120)

The Seattle Seahawks are underdogs this week at home against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Seahawks’ offense is starting to click. Geno Smith is leading the league with a 75.2% completion percentage. This week against New Orleans, he connected with Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf for a combined 10 catches, 192 yards, and 3 touchdowns on 14 targets. The season-ending injury to Rashaad Penny is a blow to the run game, but Kenneth Walker III filled in after Penny left the game and rushed the ball eight times for 88 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals are coming to Seattle after a tough loss to the first-place Philadelphia Eagles. Losing to the 5-0 Eagles isn’t an indictment especially considering they came within a missed field goal away from forcing overtime. However, the ankle injury to James Conner may prove to be costly to the Cardinals if he misses much time. Per Statmuse, since 2021, Conner only trails Austin Ekeler, Cooper Kupp, and Jonathan Taylor in touchdowns. That puts him ahead of guys like Travis Kelce, Davante Adams, and Tyreek Hill. If Conner misses this game, that is a big part of their offense missing, leaving them with the tough task of keeping up with the surprisingly good Seattle Seahawks’ offense.

Pick: The Seattle Seahawks (+120)

Medium Long Shot (odds between +121 to +175)

When setting the lines, the oddsmakers have to consider the two teams on the field, but I don’t understand how you can see Bill Belichick against Jacoby Brissett and determine that the Patriots are the underdog. The Browns come into Week 6 with a 2-3 record. Their losses are to the Jets, Falcons, and Chargers. Their two wins were against the Panthers and Steelers, who may be two of the worst teams in the league.

The Patriots are starting to feel like a team designed in Belichick’s image. Their defense just shut out the Lions, who came into Week 5 with the highest-scoring offense in the league. The Patriots won the turnover battle against Detroit 3-1 and had a defensive touchdown. A Patriots team that can play steady defense, create turnovers, and limit mistakes on offense is a scary Patriots team.

Pick: The New England Patriots (+134)

Large Long Shot (odds of +176 and up)

The Dallas Cowboys are traveling to Philadelphia for their Week 6 matchup against the Eagles. The Cowboys have had success recently against the Eagles, including three straight wins dating back to December 27, 2021.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-0 and are a very good team. Their record may be a little misleading, though. Their wins include; beating a Detroit team by a field goal that was just shut out 29-0 by the New England Patriots, a primetime win against Kirk Cousins, two wins against the Commanders and Jaguars, who have looked shaky at best, and this week against the Cardinals who missed a late field goal which would have forced overtime.

The Cowboys’ defense hasn’t allowed more than 19 points this season. They are winning games where Cooper Rush barely needs to throw for 100 yards. Whether Dak Prescott returns this week or Cooper Rush gets to try to keep his winning streak alive, I like the Cowboys’ defense to give them a chance for the upset and a long-shot bet.

Pick: The Dallas Cowboys (+190)

The Long Shot Parlay for Week 6:

  • Seattle Seahawks (+120)
  • New England Patriots (+134)
  • Dallas Cowboys (+190)

Parlay: +1392 (FanDuel Sportsbook)
