NFL Week 6 Picks & Predictions: Patriots vs. Browns
Even with all of the offseason drama, the Browns offense has picked up right where it left off. Like they did in 2021, they lead the NFL in run offense DVOA. The two-headed attack of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt have slashed through about every defense they’ve faced. The Patriot run defense won’t pose much of a threat as they’ve produced just the 28th ranked run defense DVOA.
Mac Jones is still questionable for the Patriots and though Bailey Zappe looked the part in their week 5 win, it came against an atrocious Detroit pass defense. However, their strength is also their ground game which is a weakness of the Cleveland defense, dead last in run defense DVOA.
This game will likely come down to which team can make plays in the air when needed. Given the uncertainty of the Patriots’ quarterback situation and home field, the edge belongs to Cleveland.
