Patriots vs. Jaguars TD Scorer Prop Bets

All props are from DraftKings Sportsbook

New England Patriots First TD Scorer: Hunter Henry (+650)

The Patriots passing attack came to life last week with Drake Maye under center. The rookie quarterback made his first career start, totaling three passing touchdowns in the loss to the Houston Texans. One of those touchdowns went to Henry, his first this year. The lack of touchdown production for Henry has been surprising after leading New England in receiving scores in 2023 with six, totaling the second-most among tight ends.

Last week, the Jaguars gave up a career-high four passing touchdowns to Caleb Williams. Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time Jacksonville gave up four passing touchdowns in a game this season. More importantly, two of Williams' four touchdowns went to Cole Kmet, including the first of the game for the Chicago Bears. The Jaguars have given up the most receiving touchdowns to tight ends in 2024, with at least one coming in three of the past four games.

Jacksonville Jaguars First TD Scorer: Gabe Davis (+700)

Many called the Jaguars fools when they signed Davis to a massive contract in free agency. While the veteran receiver struggled to start the season, he has two receiving touchdowns in Week 6, including the first of the games for Jacksonville. Davis is second on the team in offensive touchdowns behind Brian Thomas Jr. despite the slow start. More importantly, the veteran wide receiver has an appealing matchup against the Patriots.

New England's pass defense has been solid despite missing several critical contributors. They have surrendered five receiving touchdowns to wide receivers, ranking in the middle of the NFL over the first six weeks. However, 60% of the touchdowns scored by wide receivers against the Patriots were by outside receivers, including two last week against the Houston Texans. Davis has run 83.3% of his routes and scored both touchdowns lined up outside this year.

Anytime TD Scorer: Tank Bigsby (-115)

Unfortunately, the Jaguars might be without Travis Etienne Jr. this week because of a hamstring injury. The star running back had back-to-back limited practices to end the week. Yet, head coach Doug Pederson said Etienne will be a game-time decision. Therefore, expect Bigsby to see a significant increase in rushing attempts, whether Etienne is out or on a snap count. Bigsby had 101 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 5 with Etienne playing.

Meanwhile, the Patriots have struggled to keep opposing running backs out of the end zone. They have surrendered seven rushing touchdowns to running backs, the fourth-most in the NFL. Last week, the Houston Texans backfield had three touchdowns against New England. Joe Mixon had a rushing and receiving score, while Dameon Pierce had a breakaway rushing touchdown. The Patriots have given up at least one rushing touchdown to running backs in every game this season.

Anytime TD Scorer: DeMario Douglas (+320)

Douglas was the biggest beneficiary from the Patriots changing quarterbacks. The second-year wide receiver struggled with Jacoby Brissett under center. However, he was outstanding with Drake Maye last week. Douglas had six receptions on nine targets for 92 receiving yards in Week 6. His nine targets matched the rest of New England's wide receiver total. More importantly, Douglas scored his first career touchdown, pulling in a 35-yard score in the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans.

The second-year wide receiver has an outstanding matchup in London. Jacksonville has surrendered 14 receiving touchdowns, the most in the NFL. Eight of those touchdowns were by wide receivers, the fifth-most in the league. More importantly, the Jaguars have struggled against slot receivers like Douglas. They have given up six touchdowns to slot receivers, including one or more in four consecutive games. Last week, two of Caleb Williams' four passing touchdowns went to a slot receiver.
