Just when you think the run of Bill Belichick and the Patriots is over, they find a way to retool and remain competitive. They’ve put together a 7th ranked DVOA defense and looked impressive in shutting down a Cleveland running attack that had their way with almost every opponent they’d played previously. Going up against a hapless Chicago offense with a first year head coach will be a monumental mismatch.

On the other side of the ball, New England goes up against their third straight poor run defense. The Bears rank 27th in run defense DVOA. Rhamondre Stevenson should continue to impress on the ground in this game. With an identity established of running the ball and dominating the trenches, the Patriots will be fine in this matchup regardless who starts for them under center.
