NFL Week 8 Anytime TD Scorer & Win Parlays

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Let's start off our touchdown & win parlays with Miami hosting New England in an AFC East matchup. The 4-3 Patriots will be hungry to get back in the win column after losing to Chicago last week. They also have the key rest advantage, having played on Thursday Night Football.

Before last week's loss, New England previously won three straight. That included defeating a pair of bottom-tier teams in the Raiders and Jets. This week's matchup against lowly Miami presents a prime get-right opportunity. The Dolphins are 1-5 and arguably the worst team in the NFL.

The Patriots have excelled in these rebound spots under Mike Vrabel. Over the past two seasons combined, they're 5-0 in games following a regular-season loss. That includes 2-0 this year, beating both Pittsburgh and Buffalo after losing. Miami, meanwhile, could be in a classic letdown situation. The Dolphins got their first win of the season last week, skating by the Jets in a 28-25 victory.

En route to the win, let's count on Hunter Henry scoring for New England. The tight end is coming off his best game of the season, catching seven passes for 71 yards against the Bears last week. He's also averaging 56.3 yards per game over the past four weeks.

More importantly, it's a fantastic matchup for Henry this week. Miami allows the second-most receptions and fourth-most receiving yards per game to tight ends. The Dolphins have also allowed six touchdowns to tight ends, the fourth-most in the league. Henry didn't score last week, but he did get into the end zone in back-to-back games before that.

    Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions

Let's head out to Detroit for our second parlay, and roll with some juicy plus-money odds. The 4-2 Lions are home favorites against the undefeated Vikings this weekend. This should be an entertaining and intriguing NFC North matchup. Back the home squad to emerge victorious, despite Minnesota's hot start.

The Vikings' 6-0 record is very impressive, but it also deserves some context. Minnesota has benefited from a fairly easy schedule thus far. The last three wins came against Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis, teams with a combined 5-15 record this year. Before that, the Vikings defeated Tampa Bay and Chicago when Baker Mayfield and Caleb Williams both left early with injuries.

Plus, Minnesota has won four games by a one-score margin. That includes the victories over the Buccaneers and Bears, which could've gone the other way if the quarterbacks didn't get hurt. The Vikings also needed a fourth-quarter comeback to get past the Colts in last week's 16-10 win.

It might be time to sell on this Minnesota team, especially on the road against a trending-up Detroit squad. The Lions outlasted Green Bay last week and beat up on Arizona the week before. The defense is still questionable, but the offense will be a new challenge for the Vikings. They haven't had to keep pace with a potent offense yet, which could be trouble for Kyler Murray.

Though we're backing the Lions, let's look the other way for our anytime touchdown scorer. T.J. Hockenson has a very favorable matchup this week. Detroit ranks last in the league in targets (12.2), receptions (9.3), and receiving yards (100.3) per game to tight ends. The defense also has allowed a league-high 10 touchdowns to opposing TEs.

Hockenson admittedly hasn't been very productive this season. He's averaging 39.5 receiving yards per game with only one week with 40+ yards. However, the matchup doesn't lie. At least Hockenson scored for Minnesota last game. He also found the end zone in last year's matchup vs. Detroit, for what it's worth.
