NFL Week 9 Teasers: Picks & Predictions (2026)

One popular way bettors try to find value on NFL lines is by playing teasers. An NFL teaser is similar to a parlay; you add multiple legs that must all win for the bet to pay out. The key difference from parlays is that a teaser lets you buy points - like 6.0, 6.5 or 7.0 - in a direction that reduces risk. You’ll find our top NFL Week 9 teasers below.

Teaser Tips to Follow:

  • Never cross over 0
  • Tease through two key numbers, ideally 3 & 7
  • Tease games with lower totals, ideally anything 49 or fewer

    NFL Week 9 Teasers

    (Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook)

Below are a few teams that set up well as Week 9 teaser options, along with my best bet.

Cleveland Browns (+3.5 to +9.5) vs. New Orleans Saints

Shedeur Sanders is making his first start of the 2026 season, and it couldn’t come against a better team.

The Saints’ defense has been downright awful this season, ranking 26th in expected points added (EPA)/play, 31st in success rate and 23rd in dropback EPA. They are allowing an average of 28 points per game. If any defense can give Sanders opportunities to push the ball downfield and make plays, it’s this one.

My one problem with this teaser is Sanders.

In the games we saw him play last season, Sanders ranked 44th out of 45 qualified quarterbacks in EPA/play. That’s certainly not encouraging, and there’s a reason I’m not rushing to back the Browns outright.

However, Deshaun Watson cleared concussion protocol on Saturday and will be available if things go south quickly. There’s even a small chance Watson gets the start, which I would actually prefer in this matchup.

Regardless of who plays quarterback, I am not confident in the Saints’ defense, which always lets opponents stay in games. I don't think they can beat anyone by 10+ points.

Detroit Lions (-6.5 to -0.5) vs. Miami Dolphins

This could be a prime letdown spot for the Detroit Lions after a big win over division rival Minnesota.

But let’s face it, the Lions are playing with a ton of confidence right now, and they should have no problem taking care of business against the Dolphins.

The concern here isn’t necessarily whether Detroit is the better team. It’s whether they bring the same intensity after an emotional, physical divisional win.

As we’ve seen time and time again in the NFL, even when the better team controls the game, a late, meaningless touchdown can still lead to the dreaded backdoor cover.

We’re eliminating that possibility, and simply asking Detroit to do what they’re supposed to do: Win the football game.

Green Bay Packers (+3 to +9) vs. New England Patriots

This game has defensive battle written all over it.

Both teams are playing some really good football right now, and I wouldn’t be surprised if points are at a premium in this matchup.

Both offenses rank above league average in EPA/play, while the defenses have been right around league average, allowing roughly 20 points per game.

On paper, these are two evenly matched teams, and this feels like a game that could come down to who has the ball last.

I just don’t see either team running away with this one.

And that’s exactly why I love this teaser.

Instead of picking the outright winner in what should be a competitive matchup, we’re taking Green Bay from +3 all the way up to +9, giving ourselves plenty of breathing room.

If this turns into the close, hard-fought game I’m expecting, those extra six points could make all the difference.

Seattle Seahawks (-8.5 to -2.5) vs. Arizona Cardinals

    It’s the backup quarterback battle.

Drew Lock will be under center for the Seattle Seahawks, while Gardner Minshew II gets his first start with the Arizona Cardinals.

This will be Lock’s second start and third appearance with significant playing time in 2026. So far, he’s made the most of his opportunities. Lock was thrown into action early in Week 1 after Sam Darnold went down in the first half, leading Seattle to a 13-10 victory over New England.

The following week, he got the start against the Cardinals and rolled to a 31-7 win, throwing for 235 passing yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

On the other side, Minshew is coming off an impressive relief appearance against Dallas. After replacing Jacoby Brissett, Minshew helped lead the Cardinals to a thrilling 33-30 overtime victory. But the problem for Minshew Mania is that this isn’t the Dallas Cowboys defense.

Dallas ranks dead last in defensive EPA/play and 30th in dropback EPA. Seattle, meanwhile, ranks fifth in EPA/play and fourth in dropback EPA.

That’s a massive difference in competition.

Minshew deserves credit for what he did against Dallas, but going to Seattle and facing one of the league’s toughest defenses is a completely different challenge.

And while it’s always fun to get caught up in a little Minshew Mania, I just don’t see how he survives this Seahawks defense in the Land of the 12s.
