New Jersey Devils vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
It's been a rough season for the Blue Jackets, as they enter tonight's Metropolitan Division showdown as the worst team in the league (36 points). However, they're coming off a big win in Toronto on Saturday, knocking off the Leafs as huge underdogs. They'll look to turn it into a winning streak tonight against the Devils. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH.
These two sides have been trending in opposite directions since the outset, as the Devils are currently pushing for the top spot in the Metro. They've been impressive on both ends of the ice, but what stands out is their defense. New Jersey's allowing just 2.5 goals per game (5th), and they also boast the 10th-ranked penalty kill (81.1%) in the league.
With their style of play, I think this is a great spot to lock in the Devils on the puck line. They should have no issues shutting down this lowly Jackets' offense, creating an opportunity to stretch out the lead by several goals. Columbus comes into this one ranked 31st in scoring (2.5 GPG) and dead last on the power play (15.6%). Let's ride with the Devils’ puck line for a plus-money payout.
Bet: New Jersey Devils -1.5 (+120 via DraftKings)
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Colorado Avalanche
The 2022-2023 campaign has been a grind for the Avalanche. Coming off of a Stanley Cup victory, most people thought they'd hit the ground running and be right back atop the Central Division. Unfortunately, nothing's come easy this year, and the Avs enter this Stanley Cup rematch in fourth place in the Central with 60 points. This one gets underway at 9:00 p.m. ET from the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO.
The Bolts are picking up steam as they've now won five of their last seven and 10 of their last 12. It was a bit of a slumping start for Tampa, but they're right back in the thick of things in the Atlantic Division. But competing for three consecutive Cups and winning two, what can you expect with all the extra mileage from the playoff games? This veteran team seems to have the formula figured out on how to approach the regular season.
Now, as for this specific game, I'm rolling with Tampa Bay on the moneyline. One of the wins during their current hot streak came against the Avs on Thursday, a 5-0 shellacking at Amalie Arena. It was Andrei Vasilevskiy's first shutout of the season, and he's heating up. The Russian-born netminder is now 25-13-1 this season with a 2.52 GAA and .919 SV%. I love the form of the Lightning right now, and I'll ride with them to collect the two points tonight.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. San Jose Sharks
The Penguins continue their four-game, west coast road trip tonight as they make a stop in San Jose. They're 1-1-0 over the first two legs of the trip, beating the Ducks on Friday and dropping a 6-0 affair to the Kings the following night. This cross-conference clash is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET from the SAP Center in San Jose, CA.
It's going to be a dog fight down the final stretch of the season for the Penguins as they try to hold onto the final Wild Card spot in the East with 61 points. They have the Panthers and Islanders right on their tail, each earning 60 points thus far. However, I like for them to secure two points against a lowly Sharks team tonight.
While the Sharks just beat the Penguins 6-4 prior to the All-Star Break, it's worth noting that they struggle in their barn. San Jose's just 5-12-7 on home ice this season. To put that in perspective, only one other team in the league has under 10 home wins, and that's the Ducks with nine. So, while the Penguins still have some things to iron out as the playoff race heats up, they should have no issue getting a win tonight in San Jose. Let's lay the juice with Pittsburgh.
Bet: Pittsburgh Penguins Moneyline (-155 via DraftKings)
