Florida Panthers (-130) vs. Ottawa Senators (+108) | O/U 7.5 (+136/-168)

The Panthers had a Wild Card spot earlier this week, but they’ve dropped three straight and have given it back up to the Penguins. The inconsistencies of Sergei Bobrovsky continue, he’s allowed nine goals in the last two starts, and Alex Lyon allowed five in his last one.

A couple of weeks ago, the Senators had a small chance of getting a playoff spot, but after recently going 2-6-1, it’s nearly impossible. The goaltending has not been good for most of the season, but the offense that supported them hasn’t done well, with a -9 scoring differential in those nine games.

We’re going to see an offensive-driven matchup. This gets the rare 7.5 total, but with how each defense is playing at the moment, the playmakers on offense will drive it over. Plus, we have the Battle of the Tkachuk Brothers for extra motivation.

Pick: Over 7.5 (+136)

Colorado Avalanche (-265) vs. Anaheim Ducks (+215) | O/U 6.5 (-134/+110)

The Avalanche are coming to Anaheim on the second leg of a back-to-back, and they’re playing three games in four days. With Alexandar Georgiev playing on Sunday, they will start Jonas Johansson, who will be making his second start. Colorado has a top line that has performed well in any situation — Nathan MacKinnon has 18 points in ten games on no rest, and Mikko Rantanen has nine points.

Even a drained Avalanche lineup is better than the Ducks. They’ve dropped eight of their ten, and just Troy Terry has been the only player you can say has been playing.

That’s why this matchup is intriguing. The Avalanche needed a shootout to get two points against Arizona. This is going to affect playing another road game on a quick turnaround. Talent-wise, they could get a win, but not on the puck line.

Pick: Ducks +1.5 (-105)

Seattle Kraken (+110) vs. Minnesota Wild (-132) | O/U 6.5 (+116/-142)

Minnesota is now on top of what is the tightest division race in the league and holding a one-point lead over Colorado. You must be amazed by how well the goaltending situation has worked out for the Wild. Marc Andrew Fleury and Phillip Gustavsson are trading off starts, and it has been successful, and they’re allowing the third-fewest goals per game.

The question we need to ask about Seattle is, which team will we see? There’s so much talent on this offense that Jared McCann highlights, but this roster runs deep, with 12 having 30 or more points. Throughout the year, they’ll have an impressive run with a couple of remarkable winnings streaks, immediately following up with a few losses.

The first two games have featured five goals, and each team has been blanked. That shutout by the Wild came with Fleury in the crease, and he should be the starter. I’m going with the under for a third consecutive matchup.

Under 6.5 (-142)
