Boston Bruins (-146vs. Edmonton Oilers (-125) | O/U 6.5 (-138/+112)

That rough patch near the All-Star break is well behind the Bruins. They’ve dominantly won six straight with a +15 scoring differential. This is one of the best scoring defenses in the league, and goalie Linus Ullmark has been stellar in the crease and, I guess, now on offense.

David Pastrnak will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year, and every game helps him to a big payday. He’s currently second in goals and fourth in points and would have been a Hart Trophy candidate in most years.

That award will go to his opponent Connor McDavid. He leads the league in goals and assists, totaling 25 more points than the next man, his teammate Leon Draisaital.

This will be a fun matchup between two offenses with deep lines of playmakers. Edmonton has scored more this season, but Boston has the better defense. This should be a back-and-forth matchup, with each team trading off goals.

Pick: Over 6.5 (-138)

Detroit Red Wings (-106vs. Ottawa Senators (-142) | O/U 6.5 (-106/-114)

The Red Wings have been a lot better recently, resulting in winning games. The blue line has always been sharp, but Vile Husso has played much better lately, going 8-3-0 and allowing just 2.27 goals per game in his last 11.

The offense has really turned it around by scoring four or more goals in five of their last eight games, and Dylan Larkin has seven goals in his previous 10.

The Senators have also put together a solid run, winning eight of their last 12. However, the wins have been against struggling teams like the Flames, Canadiens and Blackhawks. Ottawa is great on the top lines, with Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle and Claude Giroux all having over 20 goals. Unfortunately, the deeper part of the roster hasn’t supported them much.

The health at goalie has been a problem recently. Cam Talbot just returned to the lineup after missing a month, but then Anton Forsberg immediately went on the shelf.

Both offenses have been great recently. It’s another matchup where I like betting the total, rather than backing a team.

Pick: Over 6.5 (-106)

Vegas Golden Knights (+118vs. Colorado Avalanche (-142) | O/U 6 (-106/-114)

The Golden Knights lost a tough one against Dallas, where they had the lead until the final seconds in regulation, when the defense broke down and Roope Hintz tied the game. Vegas would lose in a shootout.

Vegas has played well recently, winning six of eight and grabbing a point in all of them. The offense has had similar dominance from early in the season, even without Mark Stone, whom we may not see again this season.

If the Knights are hot, then the Avs are on fire. They’ve been on a tremendous run over the last month, going 13-2-2, and have climbed back into the conversation to win the Central. Alexandar Georgiev has been excellent between the pipes allowing 2.25 goals in his last four games, with Nathan McKinnon and Mikko Rantanen holding down the forward unit with four goals each in their previous five.

These two teams are evenly matched in a few spots. But even with Vegas playing well on offense, it will be hard to match what McKinnon and Rantanen have been doing on their respective lines.

Pick: Avalanche 60 Min. ML (+112)
