St. Louis Blues (+176vs. Winnipeg Jets (-215) | O/U 6 (-110/-110)

The Jets come in struggling by losing three straight, including being blanked by the Flyers in their last game.

Their 5-on-5 offense has not been their strength this season, ranking 22nd in expected goals. The special teams, however, are slightly better, being 13th in power play percentage.

The defense has been impressive all season, both at full strength and special teams ranking fourth in goals allowed and sixth in goals against above expected. This is primarily due to goalie Connor Hellebuyck’s third in goals saved above expected.

The Blues have been one of the more streaky teams in the league all season. There are times when the offense can push the puck, convert goals, and stay tough on the rebound, and then there are games where they have trouble even moving out of the neutral zone.

You also have the anomaly that is Jordan Binnington, and he’s been the streakiest of them all. He’s had stretches where he’s a brick wall and can withstand taking high-danger shots, and then he’ll have times where he can’t defend anything. The consistency isn’t there, including giving up 11 goals in three games.

Both teams need a win. So far, the Jets have dominated the series, winning both games by a combined score of 9-2.

With a day of rest, we should assume Binnington will start for St. Louis, and this will be the first time he’s seen Winnipeg this year.

In the end, the Jets’ defense can contain a Blues offense averaging just two goals over the last four games.

Pick: Jets 60 min. ML (-132)

The total is a pick ‘em.’ The series is 1-1 on the total; for this one, the under is the way to go. Binnington’s first game against the Jets won’t be perfect, but better than Thomas Greiss. Another stellar Hellebuyck performance will keep the score low.

Pick: Under 6 (-110)
