Pittsburgh Penguins (-156) vs. St. Louis Blues (+130) | O/U 6.5 (-118/-104)

The Penguins’ playoff hopes are in jeopardy. The team has hit a rough patch and is 3-6-1 over their last ten games.

The defense has been awful, allowing 5.25 goals over the last four games. Tristan Jarry was out for a month and has struggled since his return, which includes being benched after the second period against Edmonton. We’ll see if they go to him or Casey DeSmith for this game.

The Blues’ streaky play throughout the season has caught up to them. They’ve called this season a wash and have offloaded some assets by trading Vladimir Tarasenko and Ryan O’Reilly. We’ve seen the offense take a dip by scoring six goals in the last four games.

Goalie Jordan Binnington took over as the starting goalie this season and has not played well at all. He’s allowed the most goals of his career, and most losses, with a -6.0 Goals Saved Above Expected.

Both teams have lost four straight, and they’ve been playing well. I have no confidence that either defense can hold down their opponent.

Pick: OVER 6.5 (-118)

New York Rangers (-154) vs.Washington Capitals (+128) | O/U 6 (-106-114)

The Rangers were red hot coming out of the All-Star break, especially the offense scoring 5.33 goals per game during a six-game winning streak. That offense has recently plummeted, scoring just four goals in the current three-game losing streak.

They have seen some above-average defenses and haven’t been able to keep control of the puck, with 53 giveaways over the last three games.

Washington realized this year was a loss. They have been very busy and unloaded Garnet Hathaway and Dmitry Orlov for three picks and Craig Smith in a blockbuster trade.

They haven’t picked up a point in six straight games, and the team is still missing a ton of players due to injury.

This is a game the Blue Shirts need by going against a team with a -14 score differential over the last six games. Washington’s defense has been good, but they don’t have the offense to get through New York’s talented blue line.

Pick: Rangers 60 min. ML (+108)

Dallas Stars (+100) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (-120) | O/U 6 (+100-122)

The Stars are in trouble at the moment. Their lead in the Central is diminishing, and they have lost five straight, with the Jets, Avalanche, and Wild climbing closer.

The offense has been non-existent, scoring just eight goals in the last five games. Jason Robertson, Jamie Benn, and Joe Pavelski are the only three players with multiple points in that span, and the team has struggled to get the puck out of their zone.

The Golden Knights were in a similar funk last month, but they’re playing great at the moment. They look similar to that tremendous early season start, with the offense playing well.

There are questions about who will be in the crease – – Logan Thompson is on the shelf, and backup Aidn Hill missed the last couple of games, but he did return to practice on Friday.

Vegas has enjoyed playing in from of the home crowd, winning five straight on their own ice. Jake Oettinger should between the pipes for Dallas, but he’s allowed above his season average the last three games, and he’s gotten no offensive support.

Pick: Golden Knights ML (-120)
