Top 3 NHL Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (1/8)

This Sunday has an exciting slate of games, including a couple of teams playing well recently. We also have a matchup with some struggling teams that would love to come away with two points.

And check out our other best bets for Sunday:

Florida Panthers (+115) vs. Dallas Stars (-138) | o/u 6.5 (-110/-112)

The Panthers’ offense has continued to carry them throughout this season and is coming in today winning back-to-back, scoring eight goals in that time. They need to continue with that offense because while they have a talented top blue line, the deeper lines allow the puck to get to the net, and goaltending has been horrendous.

The Stars, however, show incredible balance. The forward unit led by Jason Robertson is fast and moves the puck well, while Jake Oettinger is one of the top goalkeepers in the league.

You should give the edge to the Stars to win this game at home, but the value in taking the over is better and makes it the best play.

Pick: Over 6.5 (-110)

Boston Bruins (-280) vs. Anaheim Ducks (+225) | o/u 6 (-124/+102)

The Bruins are playing excellent hockey right now. This team is dominant on both sides, with the second-best scoring offense and Linus Ullmark being the league’s best goalkeeper.

The complete opposite can be said for the Ducks. There is some talent on their top line, including Troy Terry, but the lack of a supporting cast has them at the bottom on both sides of the puck.

Even with the rest disadvantage, Bruins skew the needle too far in this matchup for the Ducks to pull off an upset.

Pick: Bruins -1.5 (-128)

Pittsburgh Penguins (-220) vs. Arizona Coyotes (+180) | o/u 6.5 (+104/-128)

The Penguins are in the middle of a tough stretch. They are coming in, losing six in a row, but they have faced some quality opponents. They’ve been dealing with injuries, specifically on top of the blue line.

They get a reprieve facing the Coyotes, who have lost four straight. This team cannot score or prevent scoring and will definitely be in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes.

Overall, the Pens have struggled to keep the puck away from the net, I like the Coyotes sneaking a couple of goals in, and the Pittsburgh forward unit will do plenty of damage.

Pick: Over 6.5 (+104)
