NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (11/24)
We have seven games on the slate tonight and some prop bet trends to consider. Let’s take a look.
Thursday’s NHL Best Bets & Picks
Year to date: +27.23 units
Florida Panthers (-123) at Nashville Predators (+121)
After five straight home games, the Panthers hit the road to Nashville to take on the Predators, who are getting Roman Josi back from injury. These two teams are struggling to score goals; Florida is at 2.90 per game, while Nashville sits second-to-last at 2.29. The Predators are also allowing 3.48 goals, with the Panthers also above three at 3.05. Daniil Tarasov will start in net for Florida, giving starter Sergei Bobrovsky the night off. Tarasov is proof of an embarrassment of goalie riches, currently holding a .910 save percentage and 2.34 GAA. Juuse Saros will man the other crease, and he sits with a .896 save percentage and respectable 2.85 GAA.
One big note is the drastic drop-off in the Pathers’ performance when they leave home ice. They are +9 in goal differential at home but -12 on the road. They also take fewer shots and allow significantly more to opposing teams. The Preds are better at home, but that is still relative to their dismal start. Still, with the return of Josi, it’s worth a play on the underdogs in this one.
In terms of props, each team has a couple of unsung heroes who contribute to their teams. Mackie Samoskevich is playing on the top Florida line along with Brad Marchand and Anton Lundell. He had a two-point game against Edmonton the last time out and is one of the top plays according to the Prop Bet Cheat Sheet. Matthew Wood has played in only 14 games, but he has 10 points to show for it and has been fantastic on the man advantage. The Panthers allow a ton of power-play opportunities thanks to their physical play, so it’s tempting to go with a power-play point for Wood at +502, but let’s play it safer and just go with a point at any time for him.

Vegas Golden Knights (-108) at Utah Mammoth (+107)
While the Western Conference is currently Colorado, nine levels of nothing, and then the rest of the teams, the 10-4-7 Golden Knights and 11-8-3 Mammoth should still be a stellar matchup tonight. These two teams played just four days ago, with Vegas coming out on top 4-1, and both teams have been UNDER machines this season. Part of this is how stingy they are with opponent shots on goal. Utah tops the league, allowing only 24, and Vegas is fourth with 25.5.
With such a low-scoring game anticipated, props will be at a premium. Shea Theodore has nabbed a point in six of his last seven, including three in the last game against the Mammoth. Since shots will be hard to come by, let’s combine the unders on Tomas Hertl and Clayton Keller for a nice payday.
