Florida Panthers (-104) vs. Edmonton Oilers (-118) | o/u 7 (+108/-132)
The Panthers have the same talent that won them the Presidentâs Trophy last year, but they havenât been able to win consistently throughout the season. The offense has helped this team with the ability to attack the defensive zone, and Spencer Knight has been great behind the net, allowing 2.63 goals per game.
The Oilersâ powerful offense has hit a standstill at the moment. Theyâve faced some of the better goaltenders in the league, and theyâre just 1-2, which includes being shut out by the Devils.
The Panthers are excellent at defending their own zone, allowing the seventh-fewest shots on goals this season. The only recent Oilersâ opponents that are better are the Devils.
The Panthers should create opportunities in this game and grab a win.
Pick: Panthers ML (-104)
Las Vegas Golden Knights (-260) vs. Columbus Blue Jackets (+215) | o/u 6.5 (-105/-115)
Vegas has been in the midst of a rough patch by losing three out of their last five, which includes an upset at home to the Canucks. Neither side has been good, and they have a -6 goal differential in those back-to-back losses.
It looks like itâs going to be a long season in Columbus. Optimistically the offense is showing signs of life and has a few recent big games, but as long the goaltending stays in the cellar, they arenât going to go anywhere.
This has all the makings of a get-right game for the Golden Knights to come out strong offensively against Columbus.
Pick: Golden Knights -1.5 (-110)
New Jersey Devils (-110) vs. New York Rangers (-110) | o/u 6 (-110/-110)
The Devils are the hottest team in the league, and theyâve won 14 of their last 15. They are getting contributions in both zones and are in the top three on both offense and defense.
The Rangers have hit a snag recently and have three of the last five games. The defensive unit has taken a hit with Adam Fox missing practice on Sunday with an illness and Ryan Lindgren suffering an upper-body injury on Saturday. Not having one or both could hurt them in this game against this New Jersey offense.
The Devils playing are playing especially well in their opponentâs zone and lead the league in shots on goal. This will be tough for the Rangers, that hasnât been playing well on defense and could be short-handed on the blue line.
Pick: Devils ML (-110)
