Dallas Stars (+112) vs. Colorado Avalanche (-134) | o/u 6.5 (+100/-122)

We get a great Central Division matchup as the first-place Stars take on the third-place Avalanche. Their last matchup was exciting as they kept it close for 80 minutes and had to settle it in a shootout with the Stars coming away with the 3-2 win.

Dallas has a deep roster of offensive skill players, including Jason Robertson, whose 16 goals lead the league. This is also one of the top goaltending units, with Jake Oettinger in the top six in goals allowed and save percentage.

The Avs also have one of the more dominant offenses in the league, having scored ten goals in the last three games. Their blue line has also been great this season, with Cal Makar contributing in both zones.

The Avalanche will be able to attack the net in Dallas’ zone, they’re one of the tougher units in the neutral zone, and they control the game. They’ll get a much-needed division win.

Pick: Avalanche ML (-134)

Toronto Maple Leafs (+114) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (-137) | o/u 6.5 (-115/-105)

The Maple Leafs are coming in playing well, winners of six of their last eight. Will Nylander and John Tavares are still solid at the top, but their deeper lines have also contributed. The defense has been solid all year, and they’ve been getting some great work behind the net from Mike Murray lately.

The Penguins’ ugly seven-game losing streak is behind them, and they will try to go for their seventh win in nine games. Tristian Jerry has been good behind the net, but he hasn’t been getting much help from the defensive units and is in the bottom ten in shots on goal and unblocked shot attempts.

The Leafs’ ability to attack the defensive zone should give them a ton of opportunities at the net, and I like their aggressiveness in the neutral zone. The Pens have the offensive firepower, but it won’t be enough to counter Toronto.

Pick: Maple Leafs ML (+114)

Vancouver Canucks (+146) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (-176) | o/u 6.5 (-122/+100)

The Golden Knights are continuing to show why they’re one of the better teams in the league. This lineup has playmakers on every line, and the depth of their roster allows them to stay strong on every shift. What balances them out is that they can win in high-scoring and defensive showdowns alike with how well they’re playing in both zones.

Vancouver is starting to find its stride and recently picked up wins against the Kings and Avalanche. Elias Pettersson, Bo Horvat, and J.T. Miller have been a force, but they have solid offensive overall as well. That’s how they need to win, as they’re allowing the third most goals in the league.

The last matchup was a tight game down to the wire, with Golden Knights coming away with the 5-4 victory. I’m fully expecting another solid offensive effort.

Pick: Over 6.5 (-122)
