Just two games on the slate for today, but we have both previewed. We have a couple of really good offensive teams, and there’s a good chance we’ll see a lot of points.

Florida Panthers (-235) vs. Anaheim Ducks (+190) | o/u 6.5 (-134/+110)
The Panthers are coming off a tough matchup against the Flames. They were able to tie the game late in the third period but fell short in the shootout. Last year’s top offense and Presidents Trophy winner has not come close to those numbers as a .500 team and mid-range in points scored.
Columbus is steadily improving and is now coming into this game, winning three of their last five. The Blue Jackets’ offense has been playing much better, but the defense has struggled throughout the season, as they’re sitting last in goals allowed.
The Blue Jackets have been able to out-score the bottom-tier offensive team. While Florida isn’t the same offense from last season, they’re getting better, scoring four goals in six of their eight games. I like Florida to win, but not enough confidence on the puck line, but I love the over.
Pick: Over 6.5 (-134)
Pittsburgh Penguins (-220) vs. Chicago Blackhawks (+190) | o/u 6.5 (-134/+110)
The Penguins snapped their seven-game losing streak and now have won back-to-back games and four of six overall. The mainstay of the Pittsburgh offense has excelled with 3.65 goals per game, but the defense has struggled with the lack of depth on the blue line and sub-par goaltending.
They may not need to be perfect, with the bottom-tier Blackhawks offense scoring the second-fewest goals in the league.
They’ve been trying out a trio of goalies with Alex Stalock, Petr Mrazek, and Arvid Soderblom, but no one has stepped forward and played well enough.
The Pens’ deep lineup of skilled skaters should not have a problem attacking the Hawks’ zone and putting up points against a defense that’s allowed 14 in the last three games.
