NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (10/6)
The 2026-27 NHL season is still in its infancy, but we’ve got a promising 9-game slate for Tuesday night. Key matchups include the Hurricanes vs. Canadiens, Mammoth vs. Devils, Wild vs. Sabres, Islanders vs. Rangers, and Golden Knights vs. Kraken.
My season debut of NHL Best Bets: Wednesday (9/30) went off the rails, with my three picks settling 0-3. The Penguins routed the Flyers 7-0, as Under 6.5 lost in the closing minutes. The Islanders lost 2-1 to the Maple Leafs, and the Kings +1.5 never stood a chance, losing 8-4 to the Avalanche.
We’ve got nowhere to go from here but up. Let’s regroup with three more NHL best bets on Tuesday’s slate.

Wild vs. Sabres
We’ve got an interconference tilt at KeyBank Center in Buffalo tonight between the Wild and Sabres. Both franchises are coming off strong playoff runs, each entering tonight’s game with a win under their belt.
Minnesota is 2-0, beating the Predators and Bruins by multiple goals, while allowing 2 total goals during their first two games. Tonight’s netminder is expected to be Calvin Pickard, making his debut with the Wild.
Colten Ellis is slated for the Sabres’ goaltender. He’ll also be making his season debut, coming off a .903 save percentage and a 14-8-4 record for Buffalo last season.
The Wild are 4-0 in their past 4 games played as betting favorites. Tonight, Minnesota is a slight favorite at -112 odds.
Let’s side with Kirill Kaprizov and the Wild as slight road favorites. Bet on Minnesota’s moneyline at -112 odds.
Pick: Wild Moneyline (-112)
Islanders vs. Rangers
A cross-town rivalry will be on display from Madison Square Garden tonight when the Rangers host the Islanders. It was a disappointing 2025-26 season for the Rangers, but they’ve looked sharp early in this new year, entering this matchup 3-1.
The Islanders have only played twice, losing 2-1, then posting a 6-0 win. Semyon Varlamov will make his season debut with the Isles, while Igor Shesterkin is expected to start for the Rangers. Shesterkin’s been sharp, allowing a 1.67 GAA with a 2-1 record.
The Rangers have lost 4 straight games to the Islanders. Let’s saddle up with the Islanders’ moneyline again, with 77 percent of the public on the Rangers.
Bet on the Islanders to win as road underdogs at +130 odds on the moneyline tonight.
Pick: Islanders Moneyline (+130)
Golden Knights vs. Kraken
A pair of 2-1 teams will face off from Climate Pledge Arena tonight when the Seattle Kraken host the Vegas Golden Knights. Oddsmakers have the Golden Knights valued as massive road favorites at -175 odds on the moneyline.
Goaltending is expected to be Carter Hart for Vegas and Joey Daccord for the Kraken. Hart’s 3.06 GAA creates value on the Kraken as home underdogs, especially with Daccord boasting a 1.00 GAA and a 2-0 record.
Seattle has been lighting the lamp to start their campaign, scoring 6 goals twice. Hart’s vulnerability in the net, allowing 6 goals on 40 shots faced, plus playing on the road, means we should see Kraken forwards Chandler Stephenson, Jared McCann, and Matty Beniers put up solid production to improve to 3-1.
With just 14 percent of public money on the Kraken moneyline, let’s bet on Seattle to defend home ice as an underdog.
Bet on the Kraken’s moneyline at +145 odds to close out Tuesday’s NHL best bets.
Pick: Kraken Moneyline (+145)
