NHL Parlay Picks: Week 11 (2019)

It’s certainly not a fun time to be an NHL coach right now, as this past week, we saw two more coaches relieved of their duties. The San Jose Sharks fired Peter DeBoer after a disappointing 15-6-2 start. Currently in the midst of a five-game winless streak, the Sharks will look elsewhere for answers. In a more surprising firing, the Dallas Stars parted ways with coach Jim Montgomery due to “inappropriate behavior.” The Stars have won their last three games and are sixth in the tightly packed Western Conference.

After being one of the most consistent teams for most of the season, the Boston Bruins have lost four in a row. They still sit comfortably in second place in the Eastern Conference — four points back of the Washington Capitals. It is going to be quite the battle for that last wild card spot, as both the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning are currently on the outside looking in. The Calgary Flames seem to have found new life after Bill Peters was fired as head coach, as they have won six-straight to climb to seventh in the conference.

Bests Bets of the Weekend

New Jersey Devils at Colorado Avalanche (Friday, 9 PM)
Losers of six-straight games, the Devils are struggling to find their way this season. They recently fired their coach, and they are trying to find a system that works for them. Rumors continue to swirl in regards to Taylor Hall’s future, and it certainly is distracting for the team. In contrast, the Avalanche have put up a 9-3-2 record at home and are playing some great hockey. This matchup features the number one team in goals scored per game (Avs) against the 30th ranked team in goals allowed per-game (Devils).
The Pick: Colorado Avalanche, Puckline

Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadians (Saturday, 7 PM)
The Red Wings have lost 12 games in a row, and they are in danger of breaking their franchise record of consecutive games lost (14). Their goaltending has been atrocious, surrendering an average of four goals a game. With their offense dead-last in the entire NHL, it is a terrible combination. Expect Montreal to feed off their current three-game win streak and take the win at home.
The Pick: Montreal Canadians, Moneyline

Chicago Blackhawks at St. Louis Blues (Saturday, 8 PM)
The defending champion Blues have lost three straight, but they will return home to face a struggling Blackhawks team on Saturday night. The Blues have an 8-4-3 record at home, and they match up well against the Blackhawks’ lackluster offense. Allowing the most shots in the league per-game at 36.1, the Blues should be able to get their offense going at home to take the much-needed victory.
The Pick: St. Louis Blues, Moneyline

Toronto Maple Leafs at Edmonton Oilers (Saturday, 7 PM)
This is a marquee matchup that features two high-flying offenses. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are having phenomenal years for the Oilers, putting them back into the playoff picture. Meanwhile, the Leafs offense is starting to click, as John Tavares, Mitch Marner, and Auston Matthews form a dynamic attack. This should be a fun game to watch, and there should be plenty of goals.
The Pick: Over 5.5 goals
