NHL Parlay Picks: Week 13 (2019)

The NHL returns this weekend from a brief four-day Christmas break. Twenty-two teams will be in action on Friday night, as the final week of 2019 comes to a close. The Toronto Maple Leafs are in the midst of a five-game winning streak, and they have climbed all the way to second place in the Atlantic division. In perhaps the most exhilarating game of the season on Monday, the Leafs battled back from a 5-3 deficit to beat the Hurricanes 8-6 in front of home fans.

The defending champion St. Louis Blues are winners of six-straight and hold a five-point lead over the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference. They will be playing in a home-and-home series with the Winnipeg Jets, and they will hope to carry their momentum forward. After a slow start, the Nashville Predators have gone 6-2-2 in their last 10, and they host a Penguins team on Friday that is still without Sidney Crosby. The San Jose Sharks continue to search for answers after firing their coach, as they have lost three straight and have gone 1-8-1 in their last 10 games.

Bests Bets of the Weekend

Toronto Maple Leafs at New Jersey Devils (Friday, 7 PM)
The Maple Leafs have won seven of their last eight games, and they look great under new coach Sheldon Keefe. They have scored a whopping 23 goals in their last four contests and are gelling offensively. It will be a challenge for New Jersey to keep up with the Maple Leafs’ high flying offense on Friday night, as they have allowed the second-most goals per game this season. Expect a rested Leafs team to continue their dominance and steal a win on the road here.
The Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs, Moneyline

Boston Bruins at Buffalo Sabres (Saturday, 7 PM)
The Boston Bruins snapped a mini three-game winless streak on Monday, beating the conference-leading Washington Capitals in a spirited affair. They will be carrying this momentum into Buffalo on Friday night, and look to continue their dominance over the Sabres. The Bruins have gone 4-1 straight-up in their last five games on the road against Buffalo, and have won three in a row vs. them. Expect Boston to come out of the break ready to play more consistent hockey and continue to own this Buffalo team.
The Pick: Boston Bruins, Moneyline

Minnesota Wild at Colorado Avalanche (Saturday, 8 PM)
Despite dealing with several injuries throughout the season, the Avalanche find themselves in second place in the Western Conference. They have gotten star Mikko Rantanen back from his injury, and he has continued to produce at more than a point-per-game rate. Young stud defenseman Cale Makar is also expected to make his return from injury Friday night against the Wild. The Avalanche continue to be a solid bet at home, and I expect their offense to be too much for the Wild on Saturday night.
The Pick: Colorado Avalanche, Moneyline

Philadelphia Flyers at San Jose Sharks (Saturday, 10:30 PM)
The Flyers won four in a row heading into the Christmas break and have received some excellent goaltending from Carter Hart. In his second season, Hart has gone 13-7-3 with a 2.27 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage. The Flyers will be catching San Jose on a back-to-back, and they should have the advantage of rest Saturday night. It has been a disaster of a season for this Sharks team, and I expect Philly to steal a win on the road.
The Pick: Philadelphia Flyers, Moneyline
