NHL Parlay Picks: Week 16 (2020)

In a shocking move this past week, the Vegas Golden Knights fired head coach Gerard Gallant. This firing left the hockey world stunned after Gallant led the team to a Stanley Cup final less than two years ago. Former San Jose Sharks coach Peter DeBoer has been named the new bench boss for the Golden Knights. It has been a disappointing start to the year for Vegas, as they currently sit outside of a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

In the Eastern Conference, the Tampa Bay Lightning have continued to play excellent hockey. They are 9-1 in their last 10 games and have climbed all the way to fourth place in the conference. Right above them is the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are 8-1-1 in their last 10 and have gotten captain Sidney Crosby back from injury. The Penguins are now only four points back of the conference-leading Washington Capitals.

Bests Bets of the Weekend

Pittsburgh Penguins at New Jersey Devils (Friday, 7:30 PM)
The surging Penguins are now the second most profitable team against the spread this season. They will carry their 29-12-5 record into Detroit to take on the last place Red Wings. The dynamic duo of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are both healthy and they will pose an enormous challenge for Detroit. Facing the last-place team in both goals allowed per game, and penalty kill percentage, the Penguins should roll here.
The Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins, Puckline

Anaheim Ducks at Carolina Hurricanes (Friday, 7:30 PM)
The Hurricanes continue to dominate on home ice, posting a 15-8 so far this season. They have been a very solid all-around team this season, and are very sound defensively. It will difficult for the Ducks to generate many quality scoring chances on Friday night. They are already second last in goals per game, and bottom five in shots, shots on goal, and power-play percentage. This is a good spot for a rested Hurricanes team.
The Pick: Carolina Hurricanes, Moneyline

Dallas Stars at Minnesota Wild (Saturday, 9 PM)
After a slow start, the Dallas Stars have climbed to second overall in the Western Conference. They are playing great hockey over their last 10, with a 7-3 record. Goalie Ben Bishop will be in the conversation for the Vezina with his 2.23 GAA and .930 save percentage. The Wild have lost four straight games, and have given up the third-most goals per game. I like Dallas to steal a game on the road here.
The Pick: Dallas Stars, Moneyline

Florida Panthers at Detroit Red Wings (Saturday, 7 PM)
The team with the highest over percentage (Panthers) will square off against the team that has allowed the most goals per game (Red Wings). All things point to the over in this game, as the Panthers are also bottom five in the league in goals allowed per game. The Red Wings are also on a back-to-back, so you can expect their back-up goalie to play. I expect some very loose play to lead to plenty of goals in this one.
The Pick: Over 6.5 goals
