NHL Parlay Picks: Week 2 (2019)

Week 1 of the NHL Season is in the books, and it came with plenty of surprises. In the Western Conference, we saw the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks get off to 3-0 starts after lackluster 2018-2019 campaigns. James “The Real Deal” Neal exploded for a four-goal performance for the Oilers and looks to be a nice pickup for Edmonton. In the East, we saw the Carolina Hurricanes feed off their strong playoffs and begin the season with a 4-0 record. While it is still super early and we are working with a small sample size, there are some trends to take into account when locking in our Week 2 bets.

Bests Bets of the Weekend

Calgary Flames at Vegas Golden Knights (Saturday, 10 PM)
The Vegas Golden Knights are excellent on home ice, as they went 24-12-5 in their building last year. The T-Mobile arena is electric, and a tough place for the opponent to play in. Off to a solid start to the new season, the Golden Knights have gone 2-1-0 while outscoring their opponents 12-6. While the Flames are no slouch, they have looked inconsistent at times early on. They lost to a weak LA Kings team at home on Tuesday night and got out-shot 40-29. Take Vegas at home to win outright as home favorites.

The Pick: Vegas Golden Knights, Moneyline (-136 on Draftkings Sportsbook)

Tampa Bay Lightning at Ottawa Senators (Saturday, 4 PM)
The reigning 2018-19 President Trophy winning Tampa Bay Lightning are as strong as ever and now have a solid piece returning to their lineup. Brayden Point has recovered from his injury and made his return to the lineup on Thursday night vs. the Maple Leafs. They will go on the road to face the Ottawa Senators, who finished last in the entire NHL last year with 64 points. It will be another long year for the Sens, as they are off to an 0-2 with only four goals scored.

The Pick: Tampa Bay Lightning, Moneyline (-245 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Nashville Predators at Los Angeles Kings (Saturday, 6 PM)
It has been a bumpy start for the LA Kings, as they have given up an NHL worst 17 goals to start the season. With Nashville coming to town on Saturday, their job doesn’t get any easier. The Predators are stronger offensively, defensively, and are a great road team. Last year, the Preds went 22-15-4 on the road, which was third-best in the West. I like Nashville to keep the early momentum going and steal a win on the road.

The Pick: Nashville Predators, Moneyline (-157 on Draftkings Sportsbook)

Toronto Maple Leafs at Detroit Red Wings (Saturday, 7 PM)
The Maple Leafs will make the short trip to Detroit to take on the Red Wings Saturday. The Wings will have their hands full, as Toronto’s roster is loaded with offensive firepower. This is problematic for Detroit, as they gave up 277 goals last year (third-worst in the Eastern Conference). Meanwhile, the Leafs proved they are an elite road team last season. They finished 23-12-6 as the away team and will look to continue the trend in the Motor City.

The Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs, Moneyline (-210 on Draftkings Sportsbook)
