NHL Parlay Picks: Week 20 (2020)

With the trade deadline looming on Monday, teams are beginning to load up for the playoff run. There has been plenty of player movement in the past week. The Vancouver Canucks acquired talented forward Tyler Toffoli from the LA Kings. This move will help provide some scoring depth to a Canucks team who has been hampered with injuries of late. Another team active in the trade market of late is the Pittsburgh Penguins. They acquired forward Jason Zucker and it has paid immediate dividends. Zucker has potted three goals in his first four games with the Penguins.

The Washington Capitals bolstered their roster with the acquisition of defenseman Brenden Dillon from the San Jose Sharks. With the Eastern Conference title race heating up, this will only help improve the veteran Capitals’ roster. The red-hot Tampa Bay Lightning added another scoring threat to an already star-studded lineup. Blake Coleman was acquired from the Devils this week and will help the Lightning push for first in the East.

Bests Bets of the Weekend

Detroit Red Wings at New York Islanders  (Friday, 8 PM)
This is a good spot for the slumping Islanders who have lost four straight. They will return home from their road trip in need of a big win. The Islanders carry an impressive 18-7-4 record in their own building. They will be facing the lowly Red Wings who are just 5-25-2 on the road. I expect a motivated Islanders team to get back on track as they hope to stay in a wild card position.
The Pick: New York Islanders, Regulation

Washington Capitals at New Jersey Devils (Saturday, 1 PM)
The Capitals have dropped to fourth in the Eastern Conference after a 4-6 stretch in their last 10 games. On Saturday, they will go on the road to face the Devils. The Capitals are extremely good on the road. They have a 21-8-1 away record and match up very well with New Jersey. The Devils are second-last in the league in goals allowed per game and are a very undisciplined hockey team. I expect plenty of scoring chances for the Caps Saturday afternoon.
The Pick: Washington Capitals, Moneyline

Buffalo Sabres at Pittsburgh Penguins (Saturday, 1 PM)
The Penguins are looking like a true Stanley Cup contender of late. Despite injuries to stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin this season, the Penguins have played excellent hockey. They have climbed all the way to third in the conference and first in the Metropolitan division. Betting the Penguins at home has been very profitable this year. They ware 22-5-4 and face a struggling Sabres team that is 9-15-4 on the road.
The Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins, Regulation

Colorado Avalanche at LA Kings (Saturday, 10:30 PM)
The LA Kings are in rebuild mode after a disappointing season so far. They have traded their best scoring threat (Toffoli) and a key piece to their blueline over the past week (Martinez). It won’t be an easy task for the Kings to pick up a win at home against a dominant Avalanche team.  The Avs have scored the most goals in the West this season with 209. They have a solid 18-9-2 record on the road and should pose plenty of problems for a depleted Kings team.
The Pick: Colorado Avalanche, Puckline
