NHL Parlay Picks: Week 6 (2019)

This past week in the NHL did not disappoint. We saw the New York Islanders extend their win-streak to 10 games, and the red-hot St. Louis Blues win their sixth in a row â€“ even after losing Vladimir Tarasenko to injury for several months. The Dallas Stars have shaken off a slow start by winning their fourth straight, while the Washington Capitals jumped to first in the East with four consecutive wins. Meanwhile, after a scorching hot start, the Colorado Avalanche have lost their fifth straight game. Star player Mikko Rantanen has yet to be cleared to skate, so the Avs will have to get themselves out of this slump without him.

An exciting weekend is on tap for the NHL, as the 2019 Global Series will be taking place in Sweden. The people of Stockholm will be treated to back-to-back games between the Sabres and Lightning on Friday, Saturday. Homegrown talents Rasmus Dahlin and Victor Hedman will be able to lace them up and showcase their talents in their native lands. Growing the NHL on the international stage has been a huge success, and this weekend will be no different.

Bests Bets of the Weekend

Boston Bruins at Detroit Red Wings (Friday, 7:30 PM)

The Bruins are currently the betting favorite to the win the Stanley Cup, and this comes with good reason. They are in excellent form to begin the year, as they are 7-1-2 in their last ten and second in the East. David Pastrnak is first in the NHL with 15 goals, and his linemate Brad Marchand leads the league in assists with 18. They get a very favorable matchup with the Wings on Saturday night. Detroit has scored a combined 6 goals in their last five games, and have lost four straight. Expect Boston to keep rolling here.

Nashville Predators at San Jose Sharks (Saturday, 10:30PM)

The Predators take on a slumping Sharks team who are off to a 5-10-1 start. They have allowed a putrid 3.63 goals per game to the opponent, and now face a Nashville team who is first in goals per game. Goaltender Pikke Rinne has been lights out for the Preds. He has an 8-0-2 record in his ten starts and will likely get the nod on Saturday night. The Sharks are struggling to find their game right now and will need a complete game to knock off a rock-solid Preds team.

Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs (Saturday, 7 PM)

The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing better hockey of late, and they are getting healthier. John Tavares returned from injury this past week, and it looks like forward Zach Hyman could be back for Saturdayâ€™s tilt vs. the Flyers. The Leafs have been much better at home this season with a 5-2-3 record. These two teams just faced off this past Friday, and the Leafs were victorious in a thrilling shootout win. Expect Toronto to feed off the home crowd on Saturday night and take the two points.

The Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs, Moneyline

Dallas Stars at Winnipeg Jets (Sunday, 2 PM)

This will be the Starsâ€™ only game of the weekend, so expect them to come out flying in this one. They have won four straight games as of Wednesday night, including two wins against a solid Colorado Avalanche team. Scoring 16 goals in their last four games is great news for this Dallas team, as they were dead last in 5 on 5 scoring last season. Newly acquired Joel Pavelski has found his stride and they are getting solid goaltending from Ben Bishop. The Jets are pretty banged up right now and are off to a very slow start.
