NHL Parlay Picks: Week 7 (2019)

A couple more teams were hit with the injury bug this past week, as both Sidney Crosby and Mitch Marner will be on the shelf for a long period of time.  Crosby had surgery to repair a sports hernia, and it looks like the Penguins will be without their star player for at least six weeks. Thankfully, Evgeni Malkin has returned from an 11-game absence for Pittsburgh, so he will look to carry the load. The Maple Leafs will likely be without Marner for at least another month. Marner was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, and it is a tough blow to struggling Toronto hockey club.

The Washington Capitals and New York Islanders continue to be the most profitable teams from a betting standpoint. The Caps are first in the NHL with 32 points and have gone 8-0-2 in their last ten games. Meanwhile, the Islanders are not slowing down, with a 9-0-1 record in their last ten. The defending champions St.Louis Blues sit first in the West and are in great form of late. With an 8-1-1 record in their last ten games, the Blues are showing no signs of a Stanley Cup hangover.

Bests Bets of the Weekend

Montreal Canadians at Washington Capitals  (Friday, 7 PM)
Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals are on some kind of roll. First in the NHL with 77 goals this year – the Caps averaging 3.85 per-game. They face a Montreal team at home on Friday who has struggled on defense. They are 19th in the league in goals allowed and really struggled on the penalty kill. If they can’t stay out of the box, their 28th ranked penalty kill may struggle against Caps powerplay with lots of firepower. Expect the Capitals to continue their strong start on home ice Friday night.
The Pick: Washington Capitals, Moneyline (-165 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs (Friday, 7 PM)
The Bruins fell victim to one of the biggest comebacks of the year against Florida on Tuesday night. They squandered a four-goal third period lead against the Panthers, and eventually lost in a shootout. This is gonna leave a sour taste in their mouths and I expect a focused Bruins team to come out with a full 60-minute effort on Friday night. Losers of four straight games, the Bruins will want to right the ship against a team they seem to own. With the Leafs without star player Mitch Marner, it only helps the Bruins’ chances.
The Pick: Boston Bruins, Moneyline (+100 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Dallas Stars at Edmonton Oilers (Saturday, 4 PM)
The Stars finish off their west-coast road trip in Edmonton on Saturday. This will be their third game in four nights and I expect a tired team. Edmonton has played really well this year, and are off to a solid 12-6-2 record. Star players Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid have led the charge. A solid home team, the Oilers boast a 6-2-1 record at Rogers place. Expect Edmonton to jump on a tired Dallas team and squeak out a win.
The Pick: Edmonton Oilers, Moneyline (-148 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Vegas Golden Knights at LA Kings (Saturday, 4 PM)
After a rock-solid start, the Golden Knights find themselves losers of four straight. With three days rest, they will fly into LA looking to turn things around. It is a good opportunity for them to get back on track, as the Kings are struggling hockey club who sit last in the Western Conference with 13 points. They are 30th in the league in goals allowed (3.72), and I expect the Golden Knights to have an offensive breakout on Saturday.
The Pick: Vegas Golden Knights, Moneyline (-143 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
