Thursday’s Best NHL Player Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings)

Dawson Mercer OVER 0.5 Points vs. Washington Capitals (-130)

The Devils are playing well by winning seven of their last 11. Their top line has been unstoppable, thanks to Nico Hiscener and Dawson Mercer combining for 16 goals in their previous ten.

Tonight they take on the Capitals, who have had a disappointing season and will likely miss the playoffs. They’ve been an average team, but having to deal with injuries all season in a tough conference saw them fade away by the All-Star break.

Speaking of Mercer, he is on an incredible run with a point in nine straight and came away with two points in his last matchup against Washington.

Brock Nelson OVER 0.5 Points vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (-145)

Bo Harvat has been a great addition to the Islanders’ lineup and gave a much-needed boost to this offense. Coming in with five goals and three assists in 15 games, he’ll need to play well in this important game because they are divided by one point in the Wild Card standings.

The Penguins’ offense has been impressive all season, with long-time staples Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin leading the way, and the team is tenth in expected goals,

The defense has been their weak link, allowing nearly 34 shots per game, and Tristan Jarry has not played well since his return from injured reserve.

Brock Nelson has been contributing lately for the Isles, with a point in five out of his last seven. He’s been a standout against the Pens with seven points and named the one star twice.

Brent Burns OVER 0.5 Assists vs. Philadelphia Flyers (-110)

The Hurricanes have been on fire over the last few weeks. They are 15–3-1, and 11 wins are by multiple goals.

Sebastian Aho is only one averaging a point per game, but this is one of the deeper rosters in the league, with 15 players having 20 or more points.

You can define them as a two-way team as they allow only 26.0 shots per game, with Antti Raanta and Frederik Andersen allowing the second-fewest goals this season.

They’re hosting the Flyers tonight, and although the defense is good, the offense has not. Brent Burns is a great two-way defenseman and leads the team with 38 assists. He’s averaging over an assist in his last ten games.
