60-minute Calgary Total Goals O/U 3.5

The Flames had struggled offensively in the series, and fans wondered if they could turn it on in the semi-finals against the Oilers. According to the nine goals they scored, they did.

Matthew Tkachuk, who led the team in the regular season with 42 goals but had just one in the previous series, came through with the hat trick in Game 1. Johnny Gaudreau seems to be getting into the groove with five points in the last two games. Mikko Koskinen has been struggling the entire playoffs as he’s allowing a 5.65 GAA and .865 save percentage, and Mike Smith wasn’t any better as he allowed three goals in the final six minutes of Game 1. Calgary comes in now with back-to-back games with nine goals against the Oilers. Although they may not get that high again, it should be over three.

Pick: Over 3.5

60 Minutes New York Rangers Goals O/U 2.5

The Rangers are coming off a seven-game series with the Penguins where they scored 28 goals, but we’re flat in the  2-1 loss in Game 1 against Carolina. A lot of that scoring might have had to do with the fact Pittsburgh was playing their backup and third goalie in that series so that that performance could be out-weighted. Carolina’s goalie Antti Raanta has been excellent in the playoffs with a 2.13 GAA overall. Still, he’s been especially sharp at home, allowing just five goals in five home games, including a shutout. You have to love him having another great game in front of this home crowd.

Pick: Under 2.5

Goal scored in the first ten minutes of Edmonton vs. Calgary

Calgary came out firing in Game 1 with two goals in the first minute of the game and setting the tone for an offensive onslaught. There’s been a goal in the first ten minutes between the Oilers and Flames in three of their five matchups this season, including back-to-back games. Calgary’s offense looks like it’s back after being almost dormant against Dallas, while Edmonton has been playing well offensively through the playoffs.

Pick: Yes
