Buffalo Sabres vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

    • Leg 1: Lightning ML (-215)
    • Leg 2: OVER 6.5 Total Goals (-140)
    • Leg 3: OVER 2.5 Total First Period Goals (+185)

The Sabres possess one of the most dynamic top lines in the league with Tage Thompson, Jeff Skinner, and Alex Tuch. The depth is what makes them dangerous, with Dylan Cozens having three goals in his last five games and Casey Mittelstadt and Peyton Krebs having a pair each.

The goaltending continues to cost them games, allowing 4.42 goals per game over the last seven and -1.7 Goals Saved Above Expected this season.

The Lightning offense has also been on their own great run recently. The top line of Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, and Brandon Hagel has 12 goals and 19 assists over the last ten games. They’ve also been getting contributions throughout the lineup, with Anthony Cirelli and Corey Perry each having four goals in their previous five.

Andrei Vasilevskiy’s surface numbers aren’t up to his high standards, but his defense has not been great this year. He’s been more vital than ever with the fifth-best GAA Better Than Expected (Min. 36 games).

These are two very fast and efficient offenses. Tampa Bay should have a great day, and Vasilevskiy will let a couple go by.

Vancouver Canucks vs. St. Louis Blues

    • Leg 1: OVER 1.5 First Period Goals (-175)
    • Leg 2: OVER 6.5 Total Goals (-160)
    • Leg 3: OVER 3.5 Total Canucks Goals (+105)

The Blues have been one of the most streaky teams throughout the season. They’ve begun to realize it was time to offload some assets and recently traded Vladimir Tarasenko and Ryan O’Reilly. We’ve seen the offense take a dip by scoring four goals in the last three games.

Still, the noticeable weak point has the goaltending. Jordan Binnington took over as the starting goalie this season and has allowed the most goals of his career, most losses, and a -6.3 Goals Saved Above Expected.

You can everything said about St. Louis and repeat it for Vancouver. The offense has been great, even without Bo Harvat, and they are scoring 3.75 goals per game since the trade. The return hasn’t been bad, with Anthony Beauvillier getting an increase in minutes and has seven points in eight games.

It’s their goaltending that has been terrible. Spencer Martin was sent down, and Thatcher Demko is hurt, so it’s been Collin Delia who’s allowed five goals per game over his last four.

I’m throwing confidence in both team’s ability to score and not stop it.’

Edmonton Oilers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

    • Leg 1: Oilers ML (-110)
    • Leg 2: OVER 6.5 Total Goals (-165)
    • Leg 3: OVER 3.5 Total Oilers Goals (-110)

The Oilers’ offense has been on a roll, scoring 17 goals in their last four games. Connor McDavid has the Hart Trophy locked up with 20 more points than the next man, his teammate Leon Draisaitl.

What’s holding them down is the defense. They brought in Jack Campbell to improve the goaltending, but his numbers aren’t great, and he will likely finish allowing more than three goals per game for the first in his career.

The Penguins are starting to get healthy, but the team is still struggling. Even with Kris Letang and Jeff Petry back in the lineup, the blue line has been terrible, allowing 34 shots. Tristian Jarry returned after a month and struggled against the Islanders, allowing four goals.

Both offenses will need to be at their best to out-power their opponents. I’ll give that edge to Edmonton tonight.
