The post-All-Star Game push is underway as we get closer to the playoffs. We have three games featuring at least one current playoff team with some favorable matchups.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Washington Capitals

  • Leg 1: OVER 3.5 Total Capitals Goals (+110)
  • Leg 2: OVER 6.5 Total Goals (-120)
  • Leg 3: OVER 1.5 Total First Period Goals (-140)

Buffalo has hit a rough patch and lost six of their last eight, which might have cost them a playoff spot. In that span, one of the top offenses in the league scored nearly a goal less than their average, but even the best offense can’t help when the defense is terrible.

The goaltending has cost this team more than a few wins, and just over their last eight games, they’ve given up five, seven, and even ten goals.

On paper, the Capitals had an incredible roster coming into the season, but injuries to some important players made it tough to compete in this conference. They’ve played much better since the trade deadline but aren’t in the playoff picture.

Each time these teams have met, it’s been offense galore, so you need to look for it tonight.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

  • Leg 1: OVER 3.5 Total Maple Leafs Goals (+100)
  • Leg 2: OVER 6.5 Total Goals (-115)
  • Leg 3: Maple Leafs ML (-150)

The last couple of weeks are essential to the defending champions because they now hold a one-point advantage over Winnipeg and would love to avoid being a Wild Card team.

Even with a better playoff position, it will be tough for them to repeat because they are not as good as last season.

They lost forwards Nazem Kadri and Andre Burakovsky, as well as starting goaltender Darcy Kuemper. Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen have kept this rolling offense with a combined 72 goals and 159 points.

The Maple Leafs have been great lately, and combined with the struggles of Tampa Bay, they moved into second place in the Atlantic.

Not many forwards units have been better than theirs recently. John Tavares, William Nylander, Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner have four or more goals in their last ten games, with Nylander having 14 points and Marner collecting 20.

The last matchup was 6-2 in favor of Toronto back on New Year’s Eve, and I sense a similar offensive showing tonight.

New York Islanders vs. Anaheim Ducks

  • Leg 1: UNDER 1.5 Total First  Period Goals (-120)
  • Leg 2: UNDER 5.5 Total Goals (-105)
  • Leg 3: Ducks +1.5 (-165)

The Islanders dropped the first game on their California trip and now play again less than 24 hours later.

Ilya Sorokin went last night, so that Semyon Varlamov will be behind the net. He’s had a few rough starts by allowing 3.75 goals in his previous four games.

The offense will need to be better than recently. They’ve been quiet by scoring just three goals on 46 shots in the last two games.

They get a very favorable matchup against the Ducks, who are near the bottom of the league on both sides of the puck.

Anaheim has some talent, including Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry. They would love to pair them with someone like Connor Bedard to build a future.

I have no confidence in the Ducks pulling off the upset even with the rest advantage, but I also don’t think the Isles will dominate in this game. New York will squeak by tonight.

Parlay Odds: +475
