NHL Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (3/8)

The post-All-Star Game push is underway as we get closer to the playoffs. We have three games featuring at least one current playoff team with some favorable matchups.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings

  • Leg 1: Red Wings -1.5 (+105)
  • Leg 2: UNDER 6.5 Total Goals (-145)
  • Leg 3: UNDER 1.5 Total First Period Goals (+100)

The Blackhawks were in sell mode at the trade deadline. They sent their points leader Max Domi to the Stars, plus second points leader and long-time staple Patrick Kane to the Rangers.

They’ve been statistically one of the worst teams in the league even before trading Domi and Kane with the second-worse scoring differential.

A couple of weeks ago, the Red Wings surged and were in playoff contention by winning six of eight. That quickly went away, and now come in losing six straight.

The offense had begun to play well, and Dylan Larkin was on a hot streak, but he has struggled with three points in his last eight games.

Detroit will have a defensive advantage in this game, and Vile Husso should contain an offense with no more playmakers.

Minnesota Wild vs. Winnipeg Jets

  • Leg 1: UNDER 3.5 Total Wild Goals(-170)
  • Leg 2: UNDER 5.5 Total Goals (-105)
  • Leg 3: UNDER 1.5 Total First Period Goals (-115)

Minnesota had their four-game winning streak snapped in a shootout loss to Calgary.

They have to be one of the more unbalanced teams in the league – Marc-Andre Fleury and Filip Gustavsson are one of the best tandems between the pipes allowing the third-fewest goals, but the offense has been abysmal, scoring the fewest this season.

While Minnesota should finish in the top three in the Central, Winnipeg has let that get away from them.

The Jets have been bad recently by going 2-6-2 and have moved down to the second wild spot. This is another team that has relied on its goaltending, specifically Connor Hellebuyck, but he’s allowed 3.93 goals per game in his last starts.

With division rivals, it’s always anyone’s game, but we shouldn’t expect much scoring.

Parlay Odds: +480

Anaheim Ducks vs. Vancouver Canucks

  • Leg 1: Canucks ML (-210)
  • Leg 2: OVER 6.5 Total Goals (-105)
  • Leg 3: OVER 4.5 Total Canucks Goals (+170)

The Canucks threw up the white flag on the season when they traded Bo Harvat. They remained busy during the trade deadline by unloading Riley Stillman, Luke Schenn, and Curtis Lazar.

They still have some dynamic forwards, including Elias Pettersson with 30 goals and Andrei Kuzmenko and J.T. Miller each with 56 points. It’s been the inconsistent goaltending that has hurt them all season.

The Ducks were also sellers during the deadline, but we knew they would be. This team has been at the bottom in offense and defense throughout the year. Trevor Zegras is someone they hope to build around, and although Troy Terry is struggling after having 37 goals last season, he should be in their plans.

The Ducks have a couple of recent upset wins against the Hurricanes and Capitals, but both came when they had rest days. I like the Canucks to grab a win with the Ducks on the second leg of a back-to-back.

Parlay Odds: +678
