Boston Bruins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

    • Leg 1: Bruins ML (-120)
    • Leg 2: OVER 5.5 Total Goals (-125)
    • Leg 3: OVER 1.5 Total First Period Goals (-130)

The Bruins are in an unfamiliar spot with three consecutive losses.

The last game against the Hurricanes was probably the first time you could say they were not the better team on the ice. They were -11 in shot difference, and the sixth-best power play unit went 0-for-6.

It is not the time to go into panic mode after playing very three tough road games.

The Maple Leafs have been playing well, winning five of their last seven. This talented forward unit continues to be great, scoring four or more goals in four of their previous seven. All of the stars are playing well with William Nylander, Mitchell Marner, Auston Matthews, and John Tavares averaging a point or better.

What’s also going to make them a threat in the playoffs is the upgrade in goaltending from last year. The Leafs brought over Matt Murray and Ilya Samsonov after finishing 20th in goals allowed last season. Samsonov and Murray traded starts until recently, with Samsonov playing seven straight. He’s won three of his previous four starts and is fifth, allowing 2.31 goals.

This will be a fun game to watch with two top-ten offenses and defenses. Good teams thrive under pressure so the Bruins will stop the bleeding and end on a high note.

 Carolina Hurricanes vs. Buffalo Sabres

    • Leg 1: Sabres ML (+130)
    • Leg 2: Sabres OVER 2.5 Total Goals (-145)
    • Leg 3: Tage Thompson Anytime Goal (+160)

It will be interesting to see how much energy Carolina will have tonight. The Canes have played five games in seven days, and they know it’s the last game before the All-Star Break.

Based on their pure talent, they could pull it out. They are at the top in Expected Goals Percentage and Goals Expected Against, so either could make up for the other.

Even with that draining schedule, they’ve won eight of their last nine, which includes victories over the Bruins and Stars.

The Sabres have been on a stellar run themselves, winning five of their last six.

The best-scoring offense continues to play well with Tage Thompson having multiple points in three of his last four, including two goals. They’re even improving behind the net, with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen playing much better than earlier in the year.

The Canes are playing 24 hours after traveling from Raleigh up to Buafflo against a team that can offensively take you out early—a great spot to take the home dogs.
