NHL Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks: Saturday (10/12)
It’s the first weekend of the 2024-25 National Hockey League season. As a lifelong hockey fan, and a player in adult leagues twice per week, I am most excited about providing coverage of my favorite spot to you.
We have 13 games on the schedule for Saturday, including an afternoon game in Boston which we will not be choosing. We were also supposed to have a 14th game, but the home opener for the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Carolina Hurricanes has been postponed, as the clean up continues in South Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.
Below we feature two solid NHL Same Game Parlays for tonight’s matchups, and perhaps you can mix and match with college football, or an NFL Week 6 matchups, too. Let’s get started.

Ottawa Senators at Montreal Canadiens – 7 p.m. ET
- Leg 1: Senators Moneyline (-156)
- Leg 2: Over 6.5 Total Goals (+104)
- Leg 3: Tim Stutzle 3+ Shots On Goal (-115)
It’s the first weekend, so we’re going to keep it rather simple. The sample size for a lot of decisions isn’t terribly deep.
The Ottawa Senators (1-0-0) looked pretty good in the opener, surprising the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers in Canada’s capital city by a 3-1 count as a slight underdog (+122) while the Under (6) cashed. The Senators finally appear to have a franchise goaltender in Linus Ullmark.
The Senators have had a stranglehold on this series against the Montreal Canadiens (1-1-0), winning nine consecutive meetings since April 5, 2022. In that nine-game win streak, the Senators have outscored the Canadiens 45-22. That means the Senators are averaging 5.0 goals per game (GPG), and just three of the games have been decided by one goal. It would be really ambitious to go with the Senators on the puck line. We’ll play it safe, and simply go with Ottawa straight up on the road.
The Habs have dropped four in a row at home to Ottawa, as well, including an embarrassing 4-1 loss as moderate underdogs at home in the only meeting at Bell Centre last season on Jan. 23, 2024. The Over has cashed in four of the past five meetings in this series, too. While the Over/Under has split for the Habs in two games, the Under did hit for the Sens in their only outing to date. We’ll be going against the early-season trends, but the series trends suggest going high on the total.
As far as the player props are concerned, Tim Stutzle lit the lamp twice against the Panthers, and he racked up three shots on goal. Last season, Stutzle had a goal and four points in two meetings with the Canadiens, while totaling six SOG. He is a good bet to get to at least three SOG in this one.

Anaheim Ducks at San Jose Sharks – 10 p.m. ET
- Leg 1: Over 6.5 Total Goals (+100)
- Leg 2: Tyler Toffoli Anytime Goal Scorer (+160)
- Leg 3: Trevor Zegras Anytime Goal Scorer (+250)
In the late-window game, let’s get a little crazy.
The Anaheim Ducks (0-0-0) will actually be the last NHL to make their regular-season debut, and that will be at SAP Center against the San Jose Sharks (0-0-1). Anaheim has won four of the past five meetings in this series, but it’s a little too expensive to bet them straight up. The Ducks have won four of the past five trips to the Bay Area, too.
The Sharks opened the season looking pretty good for 40 minutes of Thursday’s opener. San Jose was up 4-1 after two periods against the St. Louis Blues, but they allowed three goals to head to overtime, before the Blues ended it 5-4 in OT.
Mac Blackwood allowed five goals on 40 shots in the overtime loss. Macklin Celebrini scored a goal and tallied an assist in his team debut, while Tyler Toffoli also had a goal and a helper in his team debut after inking a deal in free agency. The Over cashed in the opener for San Jose, with nine total goals. The Over has cashed in each of the previous five meetings at SAP Center between these Golden State rivals, too. Let’s go high on the total.
And, as mentioned, Toffoli scored a goal in the opener, and we’ll back him as an Anytime Goal Scorer (AGS) here. For the Ducks, who is better to back for an AGS than Trevor Zegras? The 23-year-old pivot is healthy, and looking to bounce back after being limited to 31 games, and just six goals last season. Look for Zegras to get off on the right foot against the very giving Sharks.
Parlay Odds: +1158
