Vegas Golden Knights at Dallas Stars

  • Leg 1: Golden Knights Moneyline (+105)
  • Leg 2: OVER 5.5 Total Goals (-115)
  • Leg 3: OVER 3.5 Total Golden Knights Goals (+180)

You might be shocked to see, but it was not a terrible offensive effort by Dallas. They were able to move through the neutral zone and got a lot of opportunities in their offensive zone. They led the game in shots on goal, expected goals, and high-danger shots, but they weren’t better where it counts in the goal department.

Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson found their groove at the end of the series against Seattle, and Joe Pavelski was scorching throughout the second round. Hintz and Robertson have played well, but Pavelski has been quiet. The forward unit will be without a key player in their captain Jamie Benn as he serves a two-game suspension for cross-checking.

The Stars are offensively struggling because Adin Hill has been on an incredible run since taking over for Laurent Brossoit. He recorded his second shutout and has a 1.96 GAA and .940 save percentage in the playoffs.

Vegas has been giving a 1-2 punch because their offense is also playing well. Jonathan Marchessault has been great with three points in this series (2G 1A) and a 48.96 Corsi For percentage, but they've been getting contributions throughout the lines. Marchessault's linemate Jack Eichel has two assists, Chandler Stephenson and Mark Stone each have a goal and two assists on the second line, and Nicolas Roy has three assists on the third.

This has made it challenging for Jake Oettinger, and he is not looking good at the moment. Coming into this game, he needed a rebound game but was bounced out less than halfway through the first period after allowing three goals on the first five shots. The question is, does Peter DeBoer put him back in the crease for an elimination game or go with Scott Wedgewood?

Every other aspect of the Stars is playing well. The blue line allowed just 16 shots in Game 3, and the special teams were great on the penalty by stopping five of six.

We saw from the Eastern Conference series what can happen when one side has a red-hot goalie and timely scoring. The Golden Knights are in that position now, and it looks bleak.
