NHL Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (10/29)
We’re back with another edition of my season-long NHL Same Game Parlay picks and predictions article for Tuesday’s seven-game NHL slate. Last week, we cashed a +139 SGP with Washington winning 4-1 as a moneyline underdog at Philadelphia, hitting the Capitals moneyline and under 7.5 total goals for a solid bounce-back spot.
I have another 2-leg SGP to tail ahead of tonight’s interconference tilt between the Minnesota Wild vs. Pittsburgh Penguins. Puck drop from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh is set for 7: 08 p.m. ET. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more NHL free bets and weekly analysis.
Tuesday's NHL SGP:
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Minnesota Wild (-120) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (+100) | O/U 6.5 (+100/-122)
Over 5.5 Total Goals (-164)
Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury returns to Pittsburgh, where he began his career, defending the crease for a 5-1-2 Minnesota Wild team entering Tuesday night. Five of Minnesota’s eight games played have gone over 5.5 total goals, while the Penguins have hit this mark in eight of ten games played to start the season.
Fleury just held Tampa Bay to two goals but surrendered four to the Kraken earlier in October. Penguins goaltender Joel Blomqvist has been porous with a 3.33 GAA, allowing four goals in back-to-back starts for Pittsburgh. Minnesota’s offense has been humming, so getting six total goals in this matchup feels like it should be light work.
Minnesota Wild +2.5 (-650)
Minnesota has yet to lose a game by more than a two-goal deficit this season. In fact, the Wild just lost their first game in regulation 7-5 to Philadelphia during their last game played on Saturday.
Pittsburgh’s bad goaltending is a huge bonus for Minnesota’s ability to cover +2.5 on the alternative puck line, while the Penguins have scored three total goals in their last two games against Edmonton and Vancouver.
SGP (-106)
We’re just shy of hitting even odds on this Same Game Parlay between the Minnesota Wild vs. Pittsburgh Penguins but it feels like we’re getting a ton of value based on where oddsmakers have set the lines in this matchup. The goal total is set at 6.5, with juice on under 6.5, but we’re buying down a goal to -164 odds for the first leg of our SGP.
These offenses can generate production, so the over 5.5 shouldn’t be an issue, while Minnesota has been dominating its opponents, having yet to lose a game by more than two goals. By parlaying Minnesota +2.5 and over 5.5 total goals, we get to -106 odds, which is worth a one-unit wager ahead of tonight’s game in Pittsburgh.
