NHL Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (11/12)

The NHL slate on Tuesday has seven games set for puck drop, bringing us to Rogers Arena for a Western Conference tilt between the Calgary Flames vs. Vancouver Canucks. These two teams met at the beginning of the season and played a high-scoring game that saw the Flames erase a multi-goal deficit to wind up with a 6-5 overtime victory on the road against the Canucks.

Last week, my NHL Same Game Parlay lost one of two legs. Buffalo routed Ottawa 5-1 and despite the Sabres scoring five goals to hit over 5.5 total goals, Ottawa’s +2.5 alternate puck line quickly faded due to their inability to light the lamp.

Let’s bounce back tonight with a three-leg NHL SGP between two Pacific Division opponents when the Calgary Flames take on the Vancouver Canucks in a Tuesday night grudge match. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more NHL free bets and weekly analysis.

Tuesday's NHL SGP: Calgary Flames vs. Vancouver Canucks

          (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

          Calgary Flames (+180) vs. Vancouver Canucks (-220) | O/U  6.5 (+106/-130)

Yegor Sharangovich 2+ Shots On Goal (-245)

Yegor Sharangovich skates on Calgary’s first attack line and top powerplay unit. This gives him extensive opportunities to get pucks on the net, as Sharangovich has recorded two or more shots on goal in seven of nine games played this season, including five consecutive matchups.

This will be Sharangovich’s first time playing the Canucks this season, so based on his current form and shooting accuracy, we’ll start by backing the Flames’ right winger to deliver two or more shots on goal for the sixth straight contest against Vancouver on Tuesday night.

Quinn Hughes 2+ Shots On Goal (-480)

Vancouver is one of the worst teams in the NHL in terms of shots on goal, ranking 31st out of 32 with 361 shots. Defenseman Quinn Hughes has 49 shots on goal through 13 games, which is 22 more than the next leader on the Canucks, Connor Garland, with 27.

Hughes has finished with two or more shots on goal in 11 consecutive games after only recording one shot on goal during the first two outings this season, which included zero shots on goal against Calgary during a 6-5 overtime loss. Expect Hughes to be ready for revenge in this rematch, so let’s bet on him to record two or more shots on goal against the Flames as Vancouver’s most aggressive and accurate shot taker.

          Under 7.5 Total Goals (-330)

Our final leg brings us to the alternate total goals betting market. After a 6-5 back-and-forth shootout in their first game, expect a more low-scoring affair tonight between the Flames and Canucks.

The goal total has gone under in seven of Calgary’s last eight games played, including six of seven road games, and five consecutive games against Western Conference opponents. Goaltenders Dan Vladar and Kevin Lankinen are projected to start in the net. Lankinen is coming off of his worst performance of the year, allowing seven goals to Edmonton, however, both of these netminders have a 2.60 GAA in 2024.

The Canucks also don’t generate a lot of shots on goal and have since moved off of Arturs Silovs, who started against the Flames during their 6-5 overtime loss. This is a great play to make in a game that should be very physical, so let’s buy a goal from 6.5, since oddsmakers are leaning -130 on under 6.5 total goals.

          SGP (+133)
