NHL Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (11/19)

Tuesday’s seven-game NHL slate has an enticing matchup for betting purposes between the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues. The Wild are coming off their sixth loss of the season, losing 2-1 in regulation at home to Dallas. The Blues host the Wild for the second head-to-head matchup this season, losing the first game 4-1 on home ice. St. Louis has lost five of its last six games outright.

Last Tuesday’s NHL SGP was a winner but it took until the 59th minute to cash my +133 SGP in the Canucks vs. Flames game, but it did settle as a win after Yegor Sharangovich recorded his second shot on goal in the final seconds of a 3-1 win by Vancouver.

I’m back with a brand-new 3-leg NHL SGP to tail for tonight’s action between the Wild and Blues. Make sure to claim and apply FanDuel’s 25% NHL SGP Profit Boost. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more NHL free bets and weekly analysis.

Tuesday's NHL SGP: Minnesota Wild vs. St. Louis Blues

            (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

            Minnesota Wild (-166) vs. St. Louis Blues (+138) | O/U  5.5 (-118/-104)

            Minnesota Wild Moneyline (-166)

Minnesota has yet to lose back-to-back games in 2024. The Wild draw a favorable matchup against a struggling Blues offense, which has scored two or fewer goals in four of their last six games played.

The Wild went into Enterprise Center a month ago and beat St. Louis 4-1, so it should be a similar outcome with the same goaltenders already confirmed in the crease. Filip Gustavsson has a solid 2.08 GAA and 8-3-1 record this season, allowing two or fewer goals in four consecutive starts for the Wild. Jordan Binnington has a 3.20 GAA and a 5-7 record as a starter, allowing three or more goals in three of his past four starts.

We’re confidently backing Minnesota in a prime bounce-back spot against the Blues on the road Tuesday night. The Wild also have an extra day of rest to gain a slight edge over St. Louis.

            Under 8.5 Total Goals (-850)

Oddsmakers have set the goal total line at 5.5 but we’re buying several goals to be extra precautious. It’s primarily due to Binnington’s shakiness in the net, as Gustavsson has been very reliable.

Both of these teams have recorded the 10th and 7th fewest shots on goal to start the year, so goal scoring will likely be at a premium. Let’s buy three goals and insert under 8.5 total goals as the second leg of our NHL SGP.

Pavel Buchnevich Under 2.5 Shots on Goal (-196)

We’re going to bet on Blues first-line winger, Pavel Buchnevich, to finish with under 2.5 shots on goal as our third and final leg. Buchnevich did record three shots on goal against Minnesota in the first matchup but he’s finished with two or fewer shots on goal in five of his previous six games played.

Oddsmakers agree that Buchnevich, despite skating on the top line and powerplay unit, has taken a back seat to Jordan Kyrou and Brayden Schenn in terms of getting pucks on the net. He’s a talented skater and a key piece of the Blues’ offense, however, I’m willing to bet against Buchnevich in this spot.

Buchnevich has only finished with three or more shots on goal in five of 19 games, including once in his past six outings, so let’s make this the final leg of our NHL SGP to get it to plus odds.

            SGP (+163)
