NHL Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (4/22)

The 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are underway, with Tuesday’s marquee matchup featuring the Florida Panthers against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Panthers won the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals, beating Edmonton in seven games. On Tuesday night, the Panthers head across the Sunshine State to face the Lightning at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Oddsmakers value Tampa Bay as a slight home favorite at -118 odds, while the goal total is 5.5. Panthers star F Matthew Tkachuk returned to practice on Tuesday morning and is trending toward playing for the first time since the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament several weeks ago. These teams split their regular season series, 2-2, with the Panthers and Lightning each recording a road win.

Tuesday's NHL SGP: Florida Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

                    (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

                    Florida Panthers (-102) vs. Tampa Bay Lightning (-118) | O/U 5.5 (-114/-106)

                    Florida Panthers +1.5 (-280)

Florida is healthier than they’ve been in a long time ahead of Game 1. Matthew Tkachuk, Aleksander Barkov, Sam Reinhart and others were nursing injuries during the end of the regular season but now appear ready to play on Tuesday night.

Sergei Bobrovsky gives Florida a big boost with his presence in the net. Bobrovsky’s heroics in certain games led to the Panthers securing their first Stanley Cup win in franchise history. He’ll have his hands full with Tampa Bay’s top-ranked scoring offense, averaging 3.56 goals per game this season, but I expect Bobrovsky to play well between the pipes.

During Florida’s most recent matchup against Tampa Bay, the Panthers won a low-scoring game on home ice, 2-1. The Panthers’ two losses against the Lightning were blowouts, 5-1 and 4-0, but I anticipate seeing the best version of Florida with most of its lineup ready to roll.

Let’s start our NHL SGP with Florida +1.5 at -280 odds as our first leg.

                    Under 7.5 Total Goals (-480)

Andrei Vasilevskiy is another Stanley Cup winner with a Vezina Trophy in this series. The Lightning’s 30-year-old goaltender has a 2.18 GAA and .921 save percentage this season, including six shutouts and a 38-20 record as a starter.

We know Bobrovsky is rock solid defending the crease for Florida. He’ll be able to weather the flurry of shots Tampa Bay’s offense generates.

All four games between Florida and Tampa Bay went under 7.5 total goals during the regular season. I’m buying a pair of goals from 5.5 to 7.5 and going under 7.5 total goals for the second leg of our NHL SGP.

Matthew Tkachuk – 60 Min Player To Record 2+ Shots On Goal (-280)

To boost our NHL SGP to plus odds, let’s back Matthew Tkachuk to record two or more shots on goal during regulation during Game 1 on Tuesday night. Tkachuk’s going to be eager to get on the ice and let the puck rip following his two-month hiatus due to injury.

Tkachuk was racking up shots on goal prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off break, recording at least two shots on goal in nine straight games for the Panthers. He also logged at least two shots on goal in both outings against the Lightning during their back-to-back in late December.

There’s no other player I’d want to our NHL SGP to be tied to than Matthew Tkachuk. Let’s ride with Tkachuk to record 2+ shots on goal during regulation at -280 odds on the road in Tampa tonight.

                    NHL SGP (+125)

I’ve got Florida covering the puck line as underdogs at +1.5, followed by under 7.5 total goals and Matthew Tkachuk to record two or more shots on goal during regulation. This winds up being +125 odds before claiming and applying the NHL SGP Profit Boost Token.

Claim and apply the NHL SGP PBT and boost this NHL Same Game Parlay to +150 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook ahead of tonight’s opening puck drop.
